What a brilliant result. What a brilliant team. We fully deserve to go up! Definitely an open game that first half and then a quick double punch to the jugular through a lovely set piece move and a wonderful finish from Hurst. We’ve got good players, but this is a well oiled machine of a team and full credit to McKenna and the coaches for implementing and maintaining a winning culture. I’m so happy to have got tickets for Saturday (not the box) and hopefully we can wrap up automatic promotion.
Delight at this result is tempered by my frustration with iFollow, unable to get in front of a screen for the first half so I started the game 45 minutes behind, just started the second half when the signal was switched off as the game had ended in real time, grrrrrrrrr!!
Ifollow was excellent for me tonight!! On a separate note, i honestly think that getting out of League 1 is a more difficult task than getting out of the championship...for a team that likes to play football!!
What a result, what a team, what a club, what a run. This club has currently got everything going for it on and off the pitch, just need to get over the line now. I thought Burgess was my MOM, colossal at the back closely followed by Morsey, Hurst and Woolfenden. That first half, have to say I was very impressed with Barnsley, they were good on the ball, first to second balls, outnumbered us in midfield with strikers getting in good positions in the box. But we were superb defensively, Burgess and Woolfendens reading of the game was top class they barely missed a beat. And what we've got now is a player in Hurst who is a real outlet, he opens up space for others, is a physical presence and can go deep or run in behind. However well Ladapo has done and an amazing feat scoring goals we look such a better team with more strings to our bow with Hurst in the team. I thought Clarke looked a bit shakey tonight(only a bit) and was pinned in at times, when he can't get forward as much it highlights how good Donacien is defensively.
Totally agree re Clarke and wolfy got bullied by Nogood a few times but...who gives a flying feck, we're on our way, we're on our way!!
Agree with Burgess MOM, a tower of strength tonight. And Walton was so confident, lots of important collects and stifling several shots.
Lets remind ourselves Bolton (A) 0-2 Derby (A) 0-2 Peterborough (A) 0-3 Barnsley (A) 0-3 Unbeaten for how many games now? One helluva team!
I'm definitely going to make sure I'm not working Saturday, that's a game that can't be missed. We're over the worst of our run in games, we're so bloody close now!
Also glad I haven't had the headache of dealing with iFuckup for the last two games, abysmal platform that can't get their most important task right most game days.
Glad you watched it, wonderful night. Oddly, iFollow was good 1st half, crap signal 2nd half. Anyone know how the next matchday film rights and development are going? A new company presumably that will have to operate within the EFL and EU live sport rules.
All I know is that it will all be in-house produced and during the last fans forum I think, Ashton said it was in progress but could have a bit of a bumpy start but the production will evolve and improve over time. As long as they can at least make the match day broadcast work, I'm happy enough to see them grow the rest of the platform as the season progresses.
All over - not good enough. Being serious, could we miss the play offs? I posted this after the Bristol rovers game. Think I should call myself mystic Royston as looks like I might be right - although I didn’t think we’d miss them (hopefully) due to winning 12 out of the next 13 games and moving into the automatic slots
