West Brom lose tomorrow and we win out last two it then doesn't matter what the other 16 or so vying for the play off do...simples
There's something strange going on in the media and I think it's either just lazy journalism or deliberate to entertain an ignorant viewing audience. According to the Sky pundits the inexperienced young Sunderland lads would find it hard to cope with the incredible West brom atmosphere. The only flaws with this theory are that most of the noise way coming from the away section, the players regularly perform in front of much bigger crowds and some, like Patterson, have played before 50,000 Sunderland supporters at Wembley. And, apparently, the power and passion from ex-PL West Brom would overwhelm them. When it became obvious only one team were playing football, and had gone above West Brom, they were portrayed as plucky underdogs. The endless cheating and fouls, from the home team, was basically ignored and the narrative continued. It was like a bad police TV show where they've decided who the murderer is and try to make the evidence fit ... ... Mrs Smug, who pays little attention to all this football, was shouting 'wtf are you talking about you clownshoes' at the TV
Even if West Brom draw tomorrow and we win our last two, then no one can catch us unless Millwall win both of theirs and can get a minimum of 5 goals without reply in their last two games and we only win ours by 1 goal. Blackburn are now relying on us to drop points, as their goal difference is ****. If we win both our games, they haven't got a hope in hell.
I know. What I posted was completely wrong. I forgot about Coventry. But the 4 point thing does work if Boro or Birmingham do us a favour. Which I think was Smug's original point that started me off on this . Just the two wins please. Make it easier! I prefer simple maths.
What a difference 5 games makes Remember thinking Stoke are on a canny run here, shame we've run out of steam, what an awesome group of players we have, don't mind a bit of schadenfreude either!
A ridiculous combination of points won and many many teams collapsing above us. I can't remember anything like it. Every time we drop points, teams around us drop more.
Sorry I missed this but did the EFL not say they would revisit Coventry's penalty for not fulfilling fixtures when it had panned out a bit more? Are they getting a points deduction then? I assume it's just a £20 fine or something aye?
Amazing really mate! I know this league is unpredictable but I had written off any chance of play offs at that point as a couple of teams usually have a decent run but it's crazy. Feel like we win our last 2 and we're in the paly offs one way or another. Sunday felt massive, just got to get the 6 points now haha!
Yeah Sunday felt unreal. I was surprised how sad I was when the dream looked gone at half time. I mean much more sad than even the lincoln playoff say, which doesn't make any sense really. Then find out that the dream isn't over after all. Mmmm.....
Fun fact: I just looked at the league one table to check on Sheff Wed and remind myself how lucky we are. Ipswich have caught Sheff Wed and their goal difference is SIXTY.
Mate since they signed Broadhead they have won 13 out of 17 games and he has scored or contributed in most. He has been an absolute star for them. Him and Chapman have basically fired them into the automatics, catching shef wed
A draw between Sheff Utd & west brom wouldn’t be too bad a result It maintains pressure on Sheff Utd and Luton to keep performing in their next games, and push hard for 3 points. Sheff Utd have Preston Luton have Blackburn
