Even more of a Hull connection as my husband played with and against Alex in trials for Hull Schoolboys(Under 15's). He met up with him again when he worked in Lancaster in the early 1960's and Alex played for Preston North End. He did not manage to get an FA Cup Final ticket from him though when Alex played in the 1964 final against West Ham when Preston lost.
It's interesting to see he's still growing, as he's clearly got taller since he bought those trousers.
I'm not really one for needing awards to validate someone doing their job. Maybe there's some merit in the community and fan stuff but I'm still struggling. I can't really imagine Akpom will be telling his grandkids about it.
