Spurs are clearly attempting to do something truly amazing today, lets hope they do it! Bournemouth going well too
If just one thing is going to go our way this season, I'd be fine with 9-0 being superceded. It won't though. Newcastle will stroll through the second half.

Looks like Poch is headed to Stamford Bridge. I kinda wish he wouldn't go to basket case clubs like PSG and Chelsea, but there we are.
In a world where miracles happen, where we actually have a chance of staying up and we beat Bournemouth and Newcastle this week... What result is best for us in the Leeds v Leicester game tonight? Leeds in 16th on 29pts with -21GD. Leicester in 17th on 28pts and -13GD.
I guess a draw? Keep them both under pressure? Then a Leicester win. I still think their squad is good enough to pull away. So if Leeds continue to capitulate it would be one more catchable side
That game can't be looked at in isolation. It needs to be considered alongside the weekend, when Leeds play Bmouth and, more importantly, Leicester play Everton. The more points are shared between Leeds, Leicester and Everton, the higher the survival target becomes. In an ideal world, Bmouth v Leeds would take place first. That would help determine the optimum result in the Leeds v Leicester game, which in turn would help determine the optimum result in the Leicester v Everton game. For example, if Leeds were to beat Bmouth, then you would also want them to beat Leicester. But the order is what it is. If we assume that Everton lose to Newcastle (which isn't guaranteed), the best case scenario would be that 17th is left on 29 points after these games. There are two scenarios is which that could occur: Leeds on 29 (with Everton on 28): if Leicester beat Leeds, Leicester beat Everton, and Bmouth beat Leeds [Or a draw between Leicester and Everton, but that moves Everton up to 29] Leicester on 29 (with Everton on 29): if Leicester lose to Leeds and Leicester draw Everton (the result between Bmouth and Leeds has no impact) The advantage of of the first scenario is that Leeds' GD is far worse than Leicester's. Overtaking Leeds on 29 points is marginally easier than overtaking Leicester on 29 points. It also leaves Everton one point worse off. The advantage of the second scenario is that it removes the Bmouth v Leeds from the equation (which could prevent the first scenario from arising). Whereas if Leicester and Leeds is a draw tonight, it would be impossible for 17th to be left on 29 points. Leeds would move onto 30, and either Leicester or Everton would later move onto 30 or 31 or 32. My view would be to let Leicester win both (and escape), and hope Leeds don't beat Bmouth. I'm looking at this purely from a mathematical point of view by the way. Not any sort of realistic view whatsoever.
Brendy, do you have this level of detail at your fingertips, or are you creating an 'Any/all scenarios' spreadsheet, filling it in as you go along?
There's an article in today's Times, which assumes that Saints are down ('Southampton appear doomed'), then talks about the survival chances of the clubs just above us. Maybe Selles should pin it on the wall of the dressing room, on Thursday. Nothing creates a "let's show 'em" team spirit better than seeing someone writing you off.
