It’s weird going into a “must win” high-stakes match with confidence. Typically, we bottle high pressure games (not that we’ve had many before this season). Through McKenna’s coaching and the way these lads are playing on the pitch, I’ve got full faith. We are an excellent side, the form team of Europe! This unbeaten streak is crazy. Full credit to Mark Ashton and owners too - without Clarke, Luongo, Broadhead, and Hurst coming in during January, we wouldn’t be where we are in the table.
It’s even weirder winning 3-0 away with Norwich getting turned over by the same margin at Carrow Road and being disappointed with the day’s results!
I thought Morsy was absolutely first class today. The way he reverses to find a way out of impossible positions with the ball sticking to his foot is as brilliant to watch and important to our success as any great strike or save.
Fantastic result. 5 points from the last 3 and we’re there. If we do manage to beat Barnsley on Tuesday, the atmosphere next Saturday will be unbelievable. Just wish Exeter could have held on today
How wrong was I about Luongo? Those two in midfield will rival any midfield in the Championship. Amazing that Broadhead and Clarke are permanent signings. In years gone by that calibre of player were loans we’d have no chance of committing.
It's incredible the farcical way the Club was run from top to bottom.I have to keep pinching myself over how things have changed.
Yesterdays win was brilliant. Its still down to us, game by game, and all in our hands. While I would be delighted if we beat Barnsley, it wont be the end of the world if we dont. I think we will win again. But a draw will suffice. They will have seen clips of our matches and will be in awe! I don’t care about Plymouth or Wednesday’s results. Wednesday will be feeling the pressure more and more.
So true, we’ve got to get ourselves over that promotion line before we worry about Plymouth’s results and the trophy. We can’t affect their results so the only thing we can do is to try to win every match. Plymouth’s home form is outstanding and they have two home games on the bounce, so I assume they will get through those and our shot at the title will come on the final day if and only if we beat Barnsley and Exeter, which will have guaranteed promotion for both clubs.
There are a couple of good videos on YouTube, type in Peterborough v Ipswich. One is from a young lad sat with the Posh fans adjacent to our supporters ( he is neither Ipswich or a posh fan) and another is a posh fan sat in the same stand. You really get to see our fantastic away support!
You really have to give credit to Blue Action and the drummer for this. Before three or four years ago even before we were struggling in the Championship our away support was lifeless, flat, the stands were mostly empty and it was never really a fun day out.
