I reckon some of you on here should apply for a job at BT sport score. I don’t usually watch it but did today. Clueless bunch of nobodies, are there no decent retired players who could talk some sense?
dear God our "defence" is truly dreadful and got worse as the game went on and if they must continue with this Trent moving into MF they need to remind him to get back to RB and ****ing stay there until we have comfortable possession up the pitch . Nice to see Jota get back to goal scoring and Diaz looked nice and sharp when he came on .
it was a shockingly undulgent performance. not moving side to side to be a pass, not getting back in slot.l, not giving konate any support at all. it was a shambles.
it might be but the minimum expectation off a no 6 is to shuffle side to side and be an option for a pass. if we want to play with konate having no rb out ball and two static no 6s stood with back to opponents and never turn then I personally think its time to call for heads. its utter lunacy. at 1-0, 2-1 and 3-1)2 we were at times seeing konate chase iwoniyi up the park leaving vvd all on his own in a back line of 1 this will get absolutely destroyed.by someone if we continue it. we were lucky just about every set piece was a chance for us.
yup. it's utter madness. if we go away to West ham and try this imo they have just enough to score 4.
TAA delivery was brilliant today from set pieces. Coukd have had 3 assists in first half from the vvd & Jota headers plus the gakpo chances cleared off the line.
yeah so let him cross from wide and take frees etc and stop this madness. his best assets have always been pinging it to robbo or crossing to forwards. standing him at 6, totally static with back to play while konate tried to figure what to do with ball is madness. the sad thing was trent didn't even have the brains to drop in behind konate when he ran on forward. a better side would win that ball and ping it to a 1 on 1 with vvd or straight in on goal. this simply doesn't work in the real world.
Players ratings: Alisson Becker 8 Fielded one shot from Gibbs-White before even better save from same player after break. No chance with either goal and calmed nerves with some good aerial takes. Trent Alexander-Arnold 7 Not as much room when stepping into midfield early on but became more dangerous, particularly with set-piece deliveries, two of which helped create goals. Ibrahima Konate 6 Involved in a battle of physical might up against Awoniyi, which he won first half but found a lot more difficult after break. Virgil van Dijk 6 A little slow with reactions on occasion defensively and a bit nervy but a threat in the opposing area, one header prompting fine Navas save. Andy Robertson 7 Plenty of hustle and bustle down the left and swung in some inviting deliveries, not least for second goal. Unlucky deflection for Forest equaliser and set up Jota’s second. Fabinho 6 Lacked a bit of tempo to his game first half although he kept the ball moving. Subbed. Jordan Henderson 6 Unable to inject sufficient pace into Liverpool’s play first half but became more prominent as the Reds began to take a hold. Curtis Jones 6 Involved heavily in the early stages and worked hard but slightly too safe in possession. Mohamed Salah 7 Very quiet in opening quarter but became more of a threat as space opened up. Took goal brilliantly for Liverpool’s third and work-rate excellent. Cody Gakpo 6 Smothered by the Forest defence at times but had one effort cleared off line. Subbed. Diogo Jota 8 Missed big chance first half with free header at far post but made amends with poacher’s first and a great finish for second. Subbed. Diogo Jota 8 Darwin Nunez (for Gakpo 60) 6 Involved in his usual manner. Thiago Alcantara (for Fabinho 60) 6
I do agree with the a lot of what’s being said, it didn’t work today and it should never have turned into a basketball match like that. Not just the TAA stuff but being that vulnerable to a long throw time and again was painful. Has to be said though, ok there’s no RB outlet for Konate but he also seems to be taking half a day on the ball and allowing himself to get into trouble
