The Football League in all its wisdom has released its short list for goal of the season and not one Sunderland goal has been listed! Can't understand how they haven't short listed any of the goals at Reading - especially Clarke's or any when Diallo has curled one in. Some are just hit and hope efforts that have gone in!

I haven't watched any of them, I don't need to.
There will be no better goal in the Championship this season than Jack Clarke's goal at Reading.

The fact they haven't included it just shows what they know about football....**** all.

If Man City had scored that, we wouldn't hear the last of it.

When Clarke scored the goal at Reading Paul Merson stated that you will not see a better goal this season and that it would be goal of the season , I think as a pundit he is one of the best and very knowledgeable as well as someone who has scored his fair share of excellent goals himself so knows what he is talking about .

some decent goals to be fair but when did 'goal of the season' turn into a long shot competition, i always thought a good build up was just as important and the clarke/reading goal was sublime from back to front, each pass found it's mark perfectly and perfectly timed...should have walked it and that is not bias.

Doesn't this tell you something about the clowns running the EFL, also how can you do it now when there's dozens of games left to play?

Andre gray goal is decent skill and finish.

But the rest, they’re good strikes, but honestly, not a single decent flowing team goal?

    disappointing.

I think the nominations were chosen by EFL refs looking at them

Chosen by refs?? What on earth?

I thought there was a chance some clown might vote something else ahead of it but to not even make the list is nuts. But there is always a bias towards the long shots. If I remember correctly, the best goal i have ever seen live - Defoe's left foot volley against the mags - was beaten into 3rd place that year by two halfway line goals, which while hard are always a bit jammy.

**** the EFL. We know what we have witnessed this season in terms of quality goals from these lads. Don't need a tin pot award for us to know we have scored some absolute worldies.

Not going to bother watching clearly a load of ****, without looking and guessing I would assume out was all long shots finishes into the top corner etc... and this is backed up by comments on here.

Our build up play has been ****ing fantastic and would be nice if teams above is disregarded the ability if our players cause they weren't banging them in from 30 yards. We might keep them a bit longer then <laugh>

Today's second tops the lot for me. Amazing team goal, how many passes were there in the build up? 20? 30?? Did anyone in the team not touch the ball in that passage of play? And when you consider the sotuation and importance of the match... Goal of the season, imo.
