Hmm. With a lack of technically gifted players it’s going to be a struggle going up against such a well drilled team. I reckon the arsenal will just have to hope they can keep us at bay and maybe nick a late one through one of their young prospects. Hopefully we score one early and kill the dream for them.
In the pre match press conference Selles has said ‘I will not play four strikers’. It would be nice if you played one though mate. He’s not Jones by any means, but the more he talks, the more I go off of him. He just sounds like the personification of the empty, blunt, fluffy style of play that the ‘playbook’ seems to promote.
I read him described as "Jones in a turtle neck" I don't think they're far wrong you know. At least its another game gloser to the end
It’s unfathomable to me that anyone involved with the club could be happy with any of our recent performances. We’ve been nothing short of pathetic. Hopefully he’s just trying to protect the squad and is unhappy in private.
All we need to do is concede 2 early goals, (which shouldn't be hard for us). Then the fightback begins. Make a couple of subs, show some grit and put a string of passes together and we do it, we get over the halfway line. COYR
I think it's more a less a given that this game on our current form is a formality win for us but I do harbour a soft spot for Arsenal and, as I would prefer them to win the league than City and also bearing in mind that may depend on goal difference, I do urge our rampant forwards, just on this one occasion, to limit the number of goals they score. Tall Theo hat trick coming in!
I’m going today. Feels end of era esque for me - The Emirates was the first Premier League away trip I did (who could forget that glorious 6-1 and thinking we’re going straight back down!) and is going to end up being my last until who knows when. Will try and enjoy it for what it is and remind myself it’s been a pretty decent last 11 years for the most part.
Snooker at the crucible sounds good. My first sports event I ever went to was the 1988 crucible. Terry Griffiths, Tony Meo, Jimmy White. I saw some legends in the flesh at 10 years of age. Loved it great memories. As for the gunners games this evening think Dennis Taylor v Steve Davis and who won that 1985 final. The underdog .
