Game of two halves, obviously, City were outstanding in the first half, probably the best we have played as a team for a full 45 mins for a long time. We dominated possesion and if Pelkas had of finished off that lovely move before we did score we could have had this wrapped up at half time. But.... Michael Carrick and Boro are no mugs. An astute subsititon and an extra man in midfield swung the game Boro's way. Take away the mad six minutes and this was a good performance by City. The extra days rest Boro had was also a factor in the second half too. Harry Vaughan unfairly booked and he had another good hour. For me I'd give the full team a MOTM vote each.
Darlow Coyle (gives everything, quality just not quite there though) Traore If we'd repeated the 1st half it would have been nigh on impossible to separate 3 out, but we fell apart.
Slater - battled hard and could have had a goal Vaughan- another decent display with some intelligent passing . Coyle - never gave up with a strong display down our right . The whole team tried hard . No one had a stinker of a game . Boro had a bit of luck with the deflected goal that Darlow maybe had covered . It gave them momentum and we allowed them to have a purple patch of a few minutes. Yes it's a defeat but since the World Cup I think we only lost 4 times in the league. Burnley Vermin Utd Borough and Norwich . Not bad . Think we are heading in the right direction. Well done boys Come on City
Traore. Vaughan. Slater. best we have played 1st half… except scoring from the chances created. But second half completely changed and stopped trying to control the game and we’re vulnerable down our LHS. We seem to be lacking a bit of pace in the team (Except Aly). Considering absences & opposition can’t be too upset with result
Slater Vaughan Sayyadmanesh - he’s was great on the right, crap on the left (as per usual). Why did Rosie change him round?
Traore Vaughan Darlow. Copy and paste off sir Cheshire Ben. I agree by the way. First half mcloughlin but 2nd half wasnt his best. We specialise in leaving full backs exposed and it pulls the rest of the team all over the place. Some of the first half play was worth the risk but not the 2nd half shambles
