I don't think it is important now, but will be in the future/next year or so. It really isn't hard to misrepresent someone with in person voting. Not being exploited at the moment, but I am pretty sure it will be
Just looked at the election data estimates for youth turnout over time. In 1974 GE youth turnout was over 70%. Simple fact of the matter is that the older generation voted in much higher numbers when they were young than young people now. An element of responsibility needs to be taken and stop pandering to young people. They have unfettered access to technology but choose to neglect to be functioning members of society. Labour seem to think increasing voted turn out will win elections but the majority of the lowest turnout seats are part of the red wall.
I've had a licence since I left school at 16 and I'm old now, starting out with a provisional, because you still needed one to hop on a moped/scooter/motorbike even with no lessons being required back then. Also the digital photo used on a licence can also be linked into your passport when you require one and visa versa, I think that's done by government gateway.
This country needs a change of government. Only a total moron would want this specific corrupt bunch of UKIP in Tory clothing to continue. I hate the Tories but you don’t have to have three braincells to see this isn’t even a tory party. Therefore anything that helps young people - who don’t vote Tory as voting Tory is a sign of having given up on life - to vote is a plus with me. I might go buy them all IDs.
Fox News has settled a defamation lawsuit from the voting machine company, Dominion, over its reporting of the 2020 presidential election. In a last-minute settlement before trial, the network agreed to pay $787.5m (£644m) - about half of the $1.6bn initially sought by Dominion. Dominion argued its business was harmed by Fox spreading false claims the vote had been rigged against Donald Trump. The deal spares Fox executives such as Rupert Murdoch from having to testify. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-65318654
Hi all - Quick apology from me. I feel like I’ve let everyone down. I just walked past Matt Hancock, and I didn’t punch him. I’m very sorry.
Surely the best thing to do to Matt Hancock would be to say to him “don’t I know you?” And then proceed to just either say “oh no I guess not” or say some random name like your cousin’s mate Barry. I’m pretty sure that would be far more crushing to him. And no chance of arrest or prosecution (yes I am aware the post was a joke)
I was once in punching distance of Boris Johnson (before he was PM) and I often think of the 'if I had a timemachine I could ...."
It’s okay mate. I saw Grant Schapps on the platform at Finsbury Park station recently, and didn’t even have the presence of mind to sneer.
That ****er has blood on his hands over the "Smart Motorway" fiasco. A little nudge at the right moment would be no more than he deserved, that is, if you boys at the railways could get a train to arrive on time.
My apology is that my brother lives next door to Dominic Cummings. I think the only reason he hasn’t burnt down his house is that it would make him homeless too.
I apologise for taking it back to American politics again, but I saw this today and I have to mention it: The American justice department have arrested some black racial injustice groups under the accusation that they are ‘working for Russia’ because they were speaking out against the Ukraine war. I am deeply concerned about the rise in authoritarian tendencies of western governments, no matter the political leanings of those being targeted. From the Canadian government freezing the bank accounts of freedom convoy, to Macron ignoring democracy, to the Tories wanting to ban protesting, to this… I think there is truly something to be worried about in the West. There is a troubling trend in governments overreaching.
Mate, I know you are the most widely read and open-minded person on here, but have you actually read the report yourself? And, having done that, have you read your own posts lately? “A federal grand jury in Tampa, Florida, returned a superseding indictment charging four U.S. citizens and three Russian nationals with working on behalf of the Russian government and in conjunction with the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) to conduct a multi-year foreign malign influence campaign in the United States. Among other conduct, the superseding indictment alleges that the Russian defendants recruited, funded and directed U.S. political groups to act as unregistered illegal agents of the Russian government and sow discord and spread pro-Russian propaganda; the indicted intelligence officers, in particular, participated in covertly funding and directing candidates for local office within the United States.” This is the first paragraph. The very first. It establishes that these 4 US individuals plus 3 Russian narratives directly interfered in the election process. Aren’t you the guy who wants the election process to be clean? Why are you letting nobodies on Twitter tell you what stuff means without… you know… reading it?
