the idiots protesting are causing more damage to the welfare of the horses. Disgusting - ignorant fools
Its all well and good Ed Chamberlain saying all sports are dangerous - Formula 1, skiing etc - only difference is, the humans choose to compete in those sports. Horses don't choose to race - they are made to. So a rather hollow comparison. 49 horses have died on UK racecourses in 2023 already. Tinkering with fences and whip rules and field sizes might have improved things marginally but I still find that a shockingly high number. One every other day pretty much.
Get in Lucinda Russell - sweet, sweet retribution for the unlucky defeat of Ahoy Senor. What a superb performance by trainer, jockey and horse.
Well done all Corach Ramblers backers - that was a great performance by that horse today. I overlooked it at Cheltenham and again today
Vanillier and Roi Mage place. Not too bad at least. Winner did it well really, well done to all involved and anyone who was on today.
What a horrid race, and whilst I don't want it banned, the Grand National isn't something i enjoy and today again was a horrid spectacle. The eejits who got on the course need punishing, but it will be the sport that gets the most punishment in the press. It was all so rushed and the result was a mess of a race. The sport needs to continue to show why racing horses is something that can be supported by the public, as it was today with the crowds at Liverpool. Results like todays race will make that much more difficult in the long run. The protesters may have just galvanised racing to actually push forward and sell the story of why racing is something to support and applaud.
