Not forgetting the cheats at Juventus who created a new model based upon increasing the valuations of the players they were selling on paper and paying the buying the clubs to agree the inflated price but knowing the real price was nothing like. Any players Juve bought were stated as being really cheap when in fact not. It made their books like they spent nothing like the reality whilst also showing massive profits on players sold so couldn’t possibly fall fowl of the FFFP rules

Just to add to the Haaland wage thing… it’s influenced by his release clause. a guy of his age with his record is worth what in the open market? £200m+? …. but he was available for c£70m So it’s fair to think he should be the highest paid player in the world anyway… and then you have the difference between his market value and the release clause. It’s obscene obviously, but hey, market forces and all that
