A tricky fixture awaits us here. Made even more crucial as we failed to put Rotherham away on Monday. We really need three points from this one - easier said than done against a team with Carrick's momentum and featuring Chuba Akpom, the division's top scorer with 26. But we're fast running out of games if the play-offs remain a realistic goal. Boro currently sit in 4th spot, seven points better off than us. We need a real lion-hearted performance - and a dash of Cameron Jerome or Nathan Redmond would be a big help! OTBC
Wagner has revealed that Ben Gibson has picked up a hamstring injury which could potentially rule him out for the remainder of the season, unless Norwich City are partaking in the play-offs next month. https://the72.co.uk/2023/04/12/late...move-defender-could-miss-rest-of-season-more/
Right now no one will fear us in a the playoffs even if we do make it. We need to use these last few games to gain some momentum and belief as well as pick up the necessary points; starting tomorrow.
Can't see much joy in this one, with Hanley and Gibson out and a makeshift defence replacing them. Managing to hold Rotherham at home is one thing, but Boro away is quite another. My interest has already shifted to the development of our young players, so Omobamidele starting is a good thing, especially as he's likely to be captain again. Gibbs is this year's breakthrough and he's likely to start as well. Rowe is back in training as well but this game is probably to soon for him. Kamara has broken through in recent games and he could be a big factor after Pukki leaves.
That is bad news. I have the utmost confidence in my theory that it is almost impossible for a club to have a successful season relative to their level without a settled, mostly uninjured, centre back pairing who manage to play together the vast majority (c.75%+ if not more) of the season. I also find that theory holds true largely irrespective of the perceived quality (or lack of quality) of the defenders relative to their level. I think Man United managed to win the league once despite centre backs shambles, but they are one of the few exceptions to prove the rule.

After seeing that starting line-up with Pukki and Sargent both playing, no Sorensen in midfield, a bunch of crocks on the bench, and Idah still making the cut, I've changed my prediction in the score prediction league.
