You would hate to miss out
    Canny post lad.

I was saying to my brother that we have been too harsh. Watched some great football this year.

Conversely, if I watched Cardiff today for 24 games I would be off into the Wear. Absolute joke.

    Apologies if I said before.

But lovely to see Cirkin back like.

Massive difference. Total athlete and rips the ball better than anyone at the back for us. Such a difference.

Despite the fabulous footwork and free flowing football ...

... Danny Batth may well end up as my player of the season.

Just as John McPhail did when we stormed the third division.

    Funny old game.

He would be my player of the season mate, barely put a foot wrong and ever since he's joined we have stopped getting bullied by big CFs.

He's the type of player you love having in your team - just heads everything

He is a class act. In the U21 game last week that me and the bairn went down to watch there was a quality moment from him in the second half.

There is a lad who goes down to the 21s games with his dad who has a disability and he sits in the stand at Eppleton. He is very vocal and shouts his support brilliantly, he is always there and you can hear him from anywhere in the ground. I don't know his name but some may know who he is.

There was a moment in the second half where Cirkin was picking the ball up to take a throw in and the lad shouted "how are you doing Dennis" and Cirkin (mid game btw) looked straight at him and said "I'm fine mate, how are you doing" and gave him a thumbs up. I didn't post it in the 21s thread at the time but looking back it was absolutely top draw.

    It's the little things.

Thoughts are with John McPhail as he battles his injuries following a fall.

    Ha

Sounds like something he would do. He has some life experience for his age .

Top class. Comes from a great family and had to learn the hard way with some losses. Grounded and always puts it in with charity and stuff. Literally couldn't ask for a better player.

    Just hope we keep him.

I haven't given up at all. Just thought Pritch looked leggy late on and would like to see Geldhart with a big lad next to him.

He was magnificent for us, a man who made the most of his limited talent ...

... unlike Connor Wickham who made the least of his.

Really young for the lad to lose his father and then move to the other end of the Country. That's the kind of mentality that get players to the top though, he has all the physical attributes to go with it as well.

And he's not a 'baby' like Andy Robertson <laugh>

Best player at the club for me. The lad has so much going for him. He is a brilliant defender, 1 on 1 superb, aggresive, good passer, engine, brave as anything, good going forward. I will say it now, happily, will play international football. He is tailor made for top level football.

Agree. One that's needs new deal asap. Once he has 20 more games under his belt. The big big clubs will be back in. Shame spurs will have a say.

John is one of my all time faves. Loved him to bits when he played for us.

Little confession. I saw Connor Wickham as very you player. Probably when he was 16 or so. It was at a youth team tournament. He was ridicously good. When he signed for us I though we had signed the second coming. Never let it be said I know anything about football <laugh>

He always seems to mix with all the players as well, which I really like. There were clips going with him and the french lads earlier in the season, just seems a top lad.

The guy has everything to become a top top player as well

You are right mate I would be gutted but not as much as missing out in the play offs, I would live with it.

Yeah, you will know more than me but my eyes tell me he will comfortably play in the Prem.

Can't think of anything he is bad at. He is brave as a lion, quick, great delivery etc. Just hope he stays fit next season.
