    For no reason?!?!

They've given plenty of reasons to be insulted.

Not really. They don't deserve to be insulted, they don't write the scripts all they do is get paid for what they enjoy doing so I see no reason why they should be called ******s. It's pathetic.

I can understand what you are saying, they shouldn't be called '******s'. They are just doing their job. However it is the way they act outside of work and in the public eye that has provoked Barton to put them in their place and tell them things a lot of people are thinking with regards to their behaviour. Albeit Barton probably being the most hypocritical person to be the one to say it, mind.

If he confronts them in a mature way it wouldn't bother but as you say the fact that they are being called ******s is ott. I agree with your point on Barton, I think he said they are what's wrong with Britain.

They are a bunch of ******s as far as I can see. ******s in the sense Barton is using it anyway. I have no problem with any man caning some of the figures of current popular culture in this country. We're turning into a joke with our plastic sugar coated bollocks.

Making a load of money for doing bugger all, I'd say they were very clever and hardly ******ed, unfortunately the program is very annoying and pointless and if any people are ******s its the people who watch it who they are milking, the same people who will buy their Christmas song.

Well technically its not a disease, its a genetic condition, but thats just being picky.

No-one can dictate what others find offensive, personally I use the word (along with others) to infer that someone has been stupid, I also use words like gay to suggest that something is a bit **** or that my friends have done something embarrassing.

I have gay friends and I've worked with kids with learning difficulties...My point being, context is key in all of this, and whilst Barton should be more conscious that he is in the public eye and using a social networking site available to millions, I don't think in this case he was aiming any offense towards people with any form of learning difficulty, cognitive condition or handicap!

I wholeheartedly agree with Joey Barton's sentiments regarding the cast of that despicable television programme.

    This.

Barton is just attention seeking though, no reason he had to be so vociferous or public in his slandering of the "TOWIE" people, even though they're clearly twats.

Wouldn't ever put anybody down because they were disadvantaged. Times like this we need to look at ourselves and thank the Lord for our blessings.

    Actually its a syndrome :emoticon-0110-tongu

But I agree with this, I'm a Neuroscientist, specialising in mental disorders, but I still use words such as ****** with my mates (never in the work place mind!) without meaning to cause any offense to people with physical or mental deficiencies.

I wouldn't say people stating their disapproval at a commonly frowned upon term of address is getting on a high horse.

The fact that the person who posted the pictures depicting the mentally disadvantaged as a joke has a jovial reference to the act of rape in their name, indicates to me that they are a bit stupid.

Whilst I agree with you, as time goes on, words do adopt different meanings, like how gay is now less associated with homosexuality and more associated with a general ****tyness of something.
