Hello all. Just a few picks for the lottery today at Fairyhouse.

Stumptown 8/1 - was just denied at Cheltenham trip will suit, been supported once more here and ought to go close.

Max Flamingo 28/1 - running with this in mind having been kept over hurdles and ran creditably in this last season, he can make the frame at a nice each way price.

Fairyhill Run 66/1 - taking a leap of faith here and will likely need a career best but every chance this one can also place at rewarding odds.

    Those 3 for me today.

    All the best folks

I've had a bet e/w on him for a couple of weeks, but rain is a big concern. Seventh last year and cheekpieces on 1st time.

Strange race this with Royale Pagaille entered leaving so many on a feather weight. One of those at the bottom must have been primed for it but no idea which one. My pins have alighted on Punative @ 50s and Now Where or When @ 20s.

Yeah and he's been well supported too Chan isn't he? Or at least was the last time i saw it. Course would suit and he has that bit of class back form that means he could well be able to carry the weight and beat this lot.

    Good luck with your selections.

The Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse is an absolute lottery (17:00), with many having a very good chance. One that has been well-backed is the relatively inexperienced Amirite. Best price of 15/2 in a few places is pretty meagre, but Henry de Bromhead's gelding is the one I will go for. Rachael Blackmore rides selection for the de Bromhead stable.

A big well-done to anyone finding the winner of this 28-runner marathon slugfest! :emoticon-0167-beer:

P.S. Best of luck at Fakenham today, GB, sorry I could not come-up with anything for you. Could never narrow it down to one in any one race! Anyway, enjoy yourself and hope you find a few winners! <ok>

Crikey, I see what you mean GB. Must be within walking distance. Do you have a lucky pin? <laugh>

The last race does look interesting though. The bottom 2 have nice pedigrees, in particular, Young At Heart with the yard 3-5 in bumpers here in recent seasons. Unfortunately only 7/2, which is a miserable price for a newcomer in an 11 runner race

Was a gruelling test ran at a fair gallop for the distance and the Willie Mullins trained I Am Maximus was given a great ride by Paul Townend, who i think was winning the race for the 1st time. JP McManus only recently purchased the horse as well (end of March) so I'm sure there may have been one or two phone calls as to his chances being favourable for today's race prior to purchase. It all worked out for them anyway.

Onto next week now at Aintree. For anyone interested there is a piece on TheHorse.ie facebook page regarding Corach Rambler and my cousins Father in law who used to train it is interviewed about the horse and what he was like when in his care.

    Chat next weekend :emoticon-0148-yes:

Great shouts Pilgrim, you really do know your onions. I didn’t back the 18/1 shot but did back SB along with 3 other winners, however, highlight of the day for me was in the 2nd race fancy foundations (I think) fell at the last looked doomed when the screens went up and after probably 10 to 15 minutes the screens came down to a terrific roar and the horse walked away.Quite emotional really.
