Match Day Thread Southampton vs Man City, 1730, Sat 8th

So frustrating. We play like donkeys against West Ham, then turn up like a half decent team against City. Will still lose the match but a much better performance so far.

 

I think you should all keep ferociously slagging off all our players, because they’re doing OK so far.

 

Worst defence, worst attack and **** midfield. Don't even think about our 'goalkeeper'.

No Saints player going for the ball again in the penalty area. Then City score! So poor.

 

Ah well. The fact that he was completely unmarked was irrelevant really. No one would have stopped him scoring that.

That comes across as very dismissive of other people's opinions, as if the opinion of the manager is the final (and only) say allowed. But whatever. Enjoy the game.

 

That was actually a really impressive half, and justification for the team that RS picked to play this one. Clear strategy that very nearly worked. Just a shame they are allowed to play a horse as a striker. We're still in this. I've enjoyed it so far.

 

My fault. I thought "Oh we have made it to HT, so I'll go for a piss".

 

This is my biggest complaint about the whole situation. We play like this against Leeds and West Ham and we may have got something. Absolutely infuriating.

 

Shame we conceded late on but can't complain with the performance. Still in it.

 

Good half tbh, just undone by a really good goal/movement.

 

West ham/Leeds don't play like Man City though. So it's hard to say yiu could perform in the same way.

 

Im not watching, but usual saints by the sounds of it.

Raise their game against a big club, and do **** all elsewhere
