The top one is over 12 months old. Can you not find anything more recent? Or i could do a compilation of him getting caught on the ball, doing his little drop if the shoulder than passing the ball to the opposition, chugging back like a steam train when he's caught out if position? They'd be very recent. Like Bumps said, I'm fairly sure you could do a compilation of clips showing all everyone is fantastic if your allowed to go back dar enough.
News Flash: you don't have to run to put in a good pass. The problem atm is that very few players are actually running which means we're crying out for a bit of pace in midfield so no, Thiago is not the answer in that respect. Thiago is a luxury player. His role at his age works very well with runners around him. I've never pretended that he's more than what he actually is but the attitude towards him is undeserved imo. Surely we can at least acknowledge what he does do very well. Apart from anything else, he's one player who will put in multiple tackles per game. Okay, he also gets booked for those tackles but at least he's putting them in while all around him are avoiding it at any cost.
Me too lol #peacemaker Tbh having a bad day at work lmao Imma start windmilling in a minute And I know violence is not the answer lmao And yes I can see it lmao
it takes 2 to pass. one to kick the ball and one to receive it. when thaigo gets it players move. when Henderson or Jones or fabinho get it they stop cos they know they don't look up and won't pass forward. it's really that simple. you'll learn not to run behind or make a move when the ball never comes. the issue is that it sounds good til he can't do the other 50% of the job off the ball.
Correct, you don't have to run to put in a good pass. However, much like with a cross or assist, it takes two players to make it good. If your teammates aren't moving, you won't put in a good pass (unless it's negative / backwards). Just general movement creates space but the odd run here and there can do it too. No one moves bar one of the front three. However, I suspect MITO is referring to the defensive side of the game when he says we don't run. (I've not read back so I could be wrong)
I could point you to his motm performance against Leicester in December in which he topped 5 categories in the match which hasn't been done before: best passing accuracy, most successful dribbles, most tackles won, most ground duels won and most recoveries, but it won't impress you We all have our favourite players and he's one of mine. I absolutely love watching him play. It's okay to disagree.
Thiago in a Man City team would be phenomenal. He's a quality player but doesn't fit our style (or, at least, the style we all believe we're still trying to play).
I agree about it being two players, that's sort of obvious but when was the last time you marvelled at how well a player received a pass. Off the top of your head can you think of one?
Only when they pluck a hoofed ball down out of the air (like salah did a few times) runs make passes, if theres no run then the most delicate lovely pass will look stupid. kind of like tsimikas trying to run after imaginary Chelsea players last night. (he was hallucinating at one point for sure) I'm sure in his head it was great closing down but a shame it wasn't near any real Chelsea players
Bobby and Salah have done that many times. Bergkamp used to do it regular too. But that's a difficult thing to what I said.
Yeh I know and I agree with what you said. I was pointing out that while a great pass isn't a great pass unless the player receives it well, everyone can receive a pass, it takes a special player with the vision, decision making, pacing and weighting the ball with precision abilities to make it not only work but look great in the process. I admire effort and desire, but it's the moments that show real skill that stay with you.
