Yep, EVEN IF we beat them we’ll still be in bottom 3. Realistically, it disappeared months ago after NF & the other ****e shows but WH was the nail. The reset should be much more entertaining tho.
Bearing in mind our position is now hopeless and with a view to next year in the Championship, I would like to see some of the best academy lads being given a chance for the remaining games so that they have some premiership experience under their belts before being called upon next season
There is an argument that being confirmed as relegated soon could be good for us. We could drop players not in our long term plans and begin rebuilding a footballing identity. Getting relegated is annoying but what has hurt is that we have lost our identity. Let’s accept relegation and find ourselves!
Completely agree, the season is done. We're ****ing **** and may as well start clearing the decks now and seeing how some of the youth team get on. Can't be any worse than the shower of **** which is the first 11
I can see little hope from the majority of the recent performances, I see players accepting their lot and others looking to jump ship as soon as possible. Selles is simply repeating the same mistakes that Ralph did and the results are the same. Time to move on and look to blood some youngsters who hopefully will become the new JWPs
Kamari Doyle is the best of the youngsters, and apparently he’s off anyhow, so… How about we try and win the rest of our games and see what happens, rather than give up now?!
Wait, what? Off where? He signed a pro contract last summer so he can't just walk out on us like Morgan did.
I don't know if you can read The Athletic, but they just did a good piece on our U18 team. There's a guy in the comments that seems to know of what he speaks, and he says that Doyle has.... ...oh hold on, let me copy and paste it.... Trevor · 4h 12m ago Having watched all of them regularly the one for me is Kami Doyle. He is very good, Then Payne who is so underrated by southampton but the most consistent player in the youth ranks with loads of clubs monitoring him but he never gets spoken about. Listen to the commentators from the recent Aston Villa saints game and you may realise why so many clubs are looking at him, he is July born so has a lot of growing to do still but saints don't rate him as highly as us fans do Tyler is good but inconsistent. Ballard is a very good goal scorer, but being very honest the rest of his game needs a lot of work in particular when he plays with his back to goal. Sam is a work in progress but is not a team player, he makes some terrible decisions and is all about himself, if the club can get the mix right between individual contributions and doing other stuff for the team he could be a good player but at the moment it's all about him. I watch every game home and away so actually see the whole games not just the highlights. please log in to view this image Jacob Tanswell · 3h 27m ago STAFF @Trevor Great insight Trevor. Have spoken to a lot of people about Dom, and that seems to be the assessment. Even Newton touched on that here Graham W. · 3h 6m ago @Trevor Trevor is the oracle on such matters. Know about JJM going to Chelsea way before it broke in other media. Trevor · 3h 3m ago Thanks Graham, I should also mention Cameron Bragg who is also very good prospect. Trevor · 3h 0m ago He gives 100% but imo other players are better. You heard it here first also Kammi will not be signing a new contract and will be leaving in at the end of the season. I'm gutted about it but he has better offers and hasn't signed he current deal. Payne may also be off as they have 3 other Premier league clubs looking at him but has signed his contract so saints would get a fee.
Thanks for that! I'm somewhat dubious about it, as unless Saints were lying when they announced his pro deal last summer, then he still has another couple of years to run and can't just walk out or get offers from elsewhere.
Yeah, I mean it's not exactly the most reliable source, but let's wait and see. Would be a real shame to lose him.
Agreed. To lose 3 of our best youngsters (albeit one came back) would be disastrous for a club like us, who are (supposed) to put pride and emphasis on the academy.
Is this a downside of investing so much money in buying young players ahead of the academy players? Sad if it is.
