Afternoon all, we keep saying it is a must win and it is, these are the games we have to come away with maximum from if we want to be in the PL next season The injuries are a huge concern as well as Bamfords form being shot
I don’t devalue the eye test Jammy. My personal opinion is that marsch’s full on press made us look frantic. It was chaotic but that chaos was really hard to play against for teams. We stopped lots of moves at source and forced errors that gave us chances. People didn’t like it, it wasn’t pretty… but had we taken a reasonable proportion of those chances we’d have been ok. Now we’re more ‘normal’ we look more organised in the traditional sense, just like every other team really.… but actually is it any more effective? People will point to results but honestly, so much of that is chance… coaches largely control processes not outcomes in sport, especially team sports, especially football. Anyway, let’s smash these florests and we can all sleep easier tonight.
My opinion is that Javi is clearly head and shoulders above Jesse in terms of tactical nouse. I do agree with you that we still seem to ship goals at an alarming rate, I know it probably isn’t but it always seems to be two at least per game. Anyway fingers crossed for three much needed points tonight. Can barely watch
Hard to be worse than Jesse, the fear is Jesse was so bad that getting someone better was simple, getting someone still good enough to keep us up, that’s questionable
