As much as he obviously needs to go, do we think it’s too late for anyone to have an impact? Those stats are damning.
Who could we possibly get now?
Where had it all gone wrong? The players are there, there just seems to be no character. Does that come from Rodgers, I guess so.
Something needs to happen as we’re running out of time now.

It is too late to ditch the manager now. There's no time for someone outside the club to turn this round. Who would take over from inside if we just sacked Rodgers and his assistant?

We were playing Palace today for Christ sake, not Barcelona at their peak! How can we not have a single shot in the first half (again!) but concede 19? I know only 4 were on target, but still, none for us. Who isn't pulling their weight? We have 5 matches against teams in the relegation mix with us, which we realistically have to win to avoid the drop. How many of those do we seriously think we can win? Those teams are all battling. We have too many bottlers and not enough battlers, so I just can't see much hope there. The team is mirroring the manager. No passion, no character, no fight - just empty talk and even emptier gestures. That togetherness within the team is long gone. If we go down with just a whimper it will be an absolute insult to the memory of Vichai and all he did for this club.

We could wait for Potter to get sacked from Chelsea!

I think this would be the perfect club for Potter.

    Palace hadn't won in 2023.
Palace hadn't won at home since Oct 2022.
Palace went 3 or 4 games without a shot.

    Good afternoon Leicester City.

The good news is that post match Brendan said we'll be fine.

Brendan's idea of fine is clearly not the same as mine. The Championship isn't fine :headbang:

The only actual good news is I'm going on holiday next week and miss 3 games of this appalling sh1t.

Well it’s happened. See what cunning plan our chairman has got up his sleeve. He shouldn’t have waited until we were in the bottom three, it was obvious we were heading that way. Spurs have got a free run at him now, be interesting to see what they do.

It isn't ...provided they can be motivated ...

I'd be tempted to play Iversen, Vestergaard and Kristiansen in defence with Faes and Castagne ... 2 Belgians and 3 Danes ... Ricky, Maddison, Mendy and Barnes in midfield and Kels and Vardy up top ...

Whoever plays I just hope the fans get behind the team for the whole 90 minutes. Get the clackers out and get an atmosphere going that will inspire them. There needs to be a sense of togetherness now that we haven't seen for some time. Booing and getting at the players will destroy any remaining confidence.

Not sure about Vardy, Fosse. He can go whole games without touching the ball, let alone not getting a shot on target. We need a leader in the dressing room as well as out on the pitch. Maybe he carries some influence in that area.

I’m wondering if the club had a clause where they wouldn’t have to pay any compensation to Rodgers if we were in the bottom 3 after a certain point in the season. The writing had been on the wall for a long time, probably after those first seven games, but we would have had to pay him a king’s ransom to go. Seems like false economy as staying up would realise much more money than it would have cost to sack him. Then again, hindsight is a wonderful thing, maybe Top believed he’d turn it round.

His legs may have lost a yard but he still has the instinct ... just needs some proper service ...

Potter was definitely top of the list when clubs were approaching Brendan a while ago. The question is, would Potter want to jump straight into a relegation battle having just gone through the mill at Chelsea?

Will we now see a formation change and maybe a back 3, maybe a return for Vestergard or Soyuncu?

Vestergaard has always been a strange situation. Bought for an expensive 17.6 m Euros and Rodgers hardly ever considered him. Whose decision was it to bring him in? One very expensive folly. Along with the other millions we have wasted on poor signings. Both Vestergaard and Soyuncu have been out of match football for so long it will take time we don't have to get them back up to match fitness. And will their heart really be in it?

I don't necessarily think the defence is all to blame for our position. Our midfield is so slow compared to the likes of Leeds and Palace. Maddison is creative but he has no pace or defensive qualities whatsoever. Ndidi is slow and has no creative abilities. Soumare is much the same. KDH and Mendy are the only ones who can get about the pitch and do the attacking and defensive job.

Maybe a back 3 is the answer. We can only work with the players we have so formation, mentality and application are the only things we can change.

It was that yard that made him what he was. Now he can't get about the pitch for 90 minutes like he used to and hassle defenders, which was a big part of his game so unfortunately, however much he's done for the club in the past, I think time has caught up with him. It would be great if he could be instrumental in us avoiding the drop like he did in 2014/15 season but I just don't see it.

I liked the way Brenda said after the Palace game that we deserved a point! What do some of these managers actually see?????

My brother in law went to the game and said he could have put more effort and passion in to the game than most of our starting eleven...and he's nearly 50!

Iverson was in fine form and a good job too.

At least we won't have to listen to Brenda saying the same thing after a loss.

We need to get the KP rocking tomorrow night for the full 90 minutes. 2 huge home games coming up and we will need at least 4 points to give us any hope........then it Man City!
