So if javi keeps us up we are going to eject him with a ta mate but we think we are a top 6 club and want a higher profile manager now we have new owners....no wonder there is that many managers on the merry go round...pity some of the players who put them on that horse don't get the same elbow
You don't know they're better though as the saying goes past performance is no guarantee of future gains.....as potter has found out at his ' bigger ' club .....and for all the success purple nose had at scum he was one game from the push and possibly a journeyman manager....Javi deserves a go if we survive
Hence why he would be good for us, as unfortunately we don't qualify for either of the two criteria that he's failed at
That’s what was said about Jesse. You can also argue that past good performances suggests future success, it’s why the likes of Dyche, Hodgson etc. keep getting appointed. All opinions I’ll admit but I’d go with either Potter (first choice) or Rogers ahead of Javi. In fact I think we’re exactly the sort of club Potter should have moved onto. I know how well Brighton are doing this season but I still see us as a step up for him for his career. Not the prima donna player at Chelsea but a club with real ambition where the right manager can become a legend if they get it right. Equally anyone that thinks Rogers didn’t do well at Leicester needs to look at his performance there and not think how happy we would be if we had the same over the next few seasons.
My view is that if Javi keeps us up in style he deserves to keep the job and start planning who goes who stays and who comes in. If we scrape home then I think a discussion is needed
Disagree. We are probably at the same stage as Brighton when he took over there. We’re on the verge of madness if we’re comparing ourselves with Chelsea.
I'm not comparing us with Chelsea, not sure where it was suggested that I was But I'm saying we are not a big club nor do we have a quality squad hence would be ideal for us, so not sure what you are disagreeing with ? The fact that Potter failed at a club that in theory should be performing a lot better than they are given the financial and depth of squad situation, shouldn't preclude him from doing a good job for at present lesser premier league clubs
Been having a few beers with olof and his mates this aft. Nearly ten o'clock at night and I'm still here.
Sorry Wakey I don't believe you. That post made too much sense for someone who has been on the beers that long
13 Premier League managers sacked so far this season On top of that PSG fans booed their team off at half time and full time. The new coach this season has just lost for the 8th time this season, unheard of. One of this games was an early exit from the Champions League again unheard of. Yet another owner who decided to sack a top coach and now paying the price they sacked Tuchel who had actually won the Champions League for them then they sacked Pochetino who won the French cup and league plus got them to the CL Semis….
As for PSG they were runners up in CL under Tuchel, lost 8 times in the league in 2021 losing the title to Lille and also had a last 16 exit to Real Madrid in last seasons CL.
