Brian Clough, David McGoldrick, Archie Gemmill, Igor Stimac, Peter Shilton, Wayne Rooney. Your boys took a hell of a beating!
From what I have seen, McGoldrick still has sublime skills and must be disappointed today. I hope he goes to our fans at end to greet them.
Oh yeah, another three points in the bag as we march towards the automatic spots. We can now get above Sheff Wed, it's in our hands and control now!!!!!
I really didn’t want to say anything about it at half time. But two points off the top with a game in hand over Wednesday. And the way we’ve gone about it - if we get to the Championship every confidence we’ll be a force.
Agreed. We're actually now in the position where if we win all of our remaining games we go up, regardless what happens anywhere else.
I think we can afford to drop points in a couple of games, as long as we don't get beaten by Barnsley. I reckon we will clinch promotion at Oakwell.
So proud of the lads,KMc,his staff and the fans today.I'll admit I was worried the International break would impact on our momentum but so glad to be proved wrong.I've every faith we'll see this across the line now.I think we have our Ipswich back!! COYB!!!
What a win, I'm struggling at the moment to see any chinks in our armour, all the things we were doing badly a couple of months ago appear to have been put to bed, the balance of the team is great, we've got tenacity in central midfield 2 players who can play good football yet love it if the opposition want to make it a scrap. The first goal yesterday was the epitome of what we weren't doing previously, we are now get the ball forwards much quicker, not holding onto it for too long. The team selection is much more consistent particularly in the forward areas and more balanced. I don't think I've ever felt this positivity supporting Ipswich, it's something hopefully we will have to learn to live with . Despite all this, I still feel Sheff Weds and Plymouth are favourites even though we're now in the driving seat, for all our great form and their slip ups they're still clinging on in the automatic places and no matter how good we are it would be a miracle if we were to continue this until the end of the Season. We're looking at Sheff Weds drop in form yet we're still in third and they've gone top today, it still feels like the odds are in their favour slightly. But whatever happens this season we have the belief that we are really building something here and whatever division we are in next I'm sure it will be a positive one.
The 3 additions in January have all improved the team. It wasn’t bringing in players for the sake of it, Kmc and his staff identified the weaknesses in the team and brought in the players to help. Luongo not only brings stability in midfield but has freed up Morsy who is now close to the top his game. Broadhead is a massive improvement on Harness, he knows his position and doesn’t get in the way of Chaplin. Hirst had a shaky start but we are beginning to see what he can do - think his hold up play is better than Ladapo’s. I hope we go up this season but even if we don’t, future looks really bright
Great win and another 3 points coupled with yet another clean sheet, i read a Derby Bloggers account and he said we employed " dark arts " and we were a " nasty and horrible side ", theres nothing like a bad dose of sour grapes after taking a beating in your own backyard. On we go.
Is there a better midfield pairing in this division than Morsy and Luongo ? Personally i dont think so and Luongo has been a revelation, it took until January for McK to get his best line up together and now he has found it and thats including the bench with Leigh and Donacien outstanding.
