He’s the lad Klich said was ‘probably’ going to be better than him… Whilst he was bigging up his fellow pole. He has talent, had injury probs
Bogusz contract was up in 3 months time so great price. He never got the chance to play first team but Bielsa took him to Oz in pre season and started him in the first game. He was pulling the strings for the 23s but was sent out on loan as soon as we got back and started the season. He didn’t pull up any trees out on loan until he went to Ibiza and he was the standout player in La Liga2, scoring goals and assists. He then smashed his knee and lost almost a whole year so that fee we got was pretty good
Reality with all these academy lads is it’s not just what we paid v what we got back. In addition to agents fees and associated vist of purchase and sakes costs it’s a mixture of what they cost us in wages, when they’re not on loan… plus their share of the fixed costs of running the academy. It’s really also an opportunity cost because they’re taking the place of someone who ‘might’ do better. Almost all of them ‘cost’ money in real terms, it’s the few that make the grade or get sold for significant money that pay for the rest.
Only partly correct Milky because whilst we are in the premier league……….. The Premier League part funds all the academies in exchange for lower transfer fees which are designed to compensate the club for the cost of training the player. The minimal transfer fees are set out in the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) but may exceed the minimal value for the right player.
Watching the game on Peacock (Yank station) Robbie Mustoe kicking off that Leeds not playing their best team and it shouldn’t be allowed. Peeing myself
RIP to Ken Buchanan. Those of a certain age on here, who follow boxing, will know how great a fighter he was.
So does Javi have a plan for this next few days of make or break matches. Will we see Gnonto and Wober back in the mix? Will we see a better version of Sinisterra, will we see Rodrigo start, will we see Georginio who to be fair did a decent job the few minutes he was on the pitch yesterday. Is it time for Ayling to go and I thought Kristensen was a better player than Ayling after yesterday. Struijk didn’t help himself What would be our best starting 11 this coming week assuming everyone fit except Forshaw, Adams, Dallas
Cooper must start v forest and one from bamford/rodrigo. As for Ayling he is such a character he would play his guts out if picked. But rasmus may get the nod. Weston if over his bug must start and Aaronson needs benching. I did not see much of Arsenal game so would go with Harrison and whoever you guys think should start.
Will probably be the same squad as yesterday but with a very different starting eleven and different tactics. We're at home against a team with a very poor away record, in fact Forest lie 20th in the away League table which is as poor as it gets really so we'll have to look to dominate possession and be far more on the front foot. Agreed on Rutter as thought he looked sharp when he came on. Kristensen playing in the midfield was ok but you don't get as exposed in that position. One thing that really disappointed me yesterday was the Arsenal 4th goal. The ball is played out to Saka and Firpo is tight in front of him, Struijk is covering should Saka go past and Rutter is back doing his defensive duties. What happens next is Roca decides he's needed and charges over to confront Saka and McKennie half follows him which results in 5 players around Saka. This ridiculous situation leaves Odergaard in acres of space to receive a simple pass and he then has all the time in the world to pick out Xhaka in the box. Ok rubbish defending from Ayling against Xhaka but the chance shouldn't have been created in the first place. Along with Ayling having a mare for the first two Arsenal goals it means our poor play was responsible for three of the four conceded.
Our home form is currently working out at 1.31 ppg and with 6 home games left (from 10 fixtures) that would see us accumulate a further 8 points at home. Home games remaining; Forest (Tues) Palace (Sun) Liverpool (17th April) Leicester (25th April) Newcastle (13th May) Tottenham (28th May) Can we get enough points at home to keep us up ?
I can see eight points from that lot so that’ll keep up the average points haul for home games so far this season. So a lot will depend on the away games. Could all boil down to Bournemouth away. Absolutely huge game, and season defining. The term six pointer is often overused but fits this one perfectly.
