    I refuse to believe any football fan, let alone Sunderland fan, would ever want Barton as a manger. The bloke is a clown and one of the very few managers that would make me stop going to the match.

    Just noticed West Ham could go bottom today if Southampton win there ...

    ... those Cockney pitch invasions certainly did the trick <laugh>

    It's not even their pitch, trespass surely.

    Southampton are capable of winning there and they could be out of the bottom three by Tuesday.The atmosphere would be absolutely toxic and all the tourists would be baling out after an hour leaving the ground half empty.

    The bottom three could be Everton, Leicester, West Ham ...

    ... while Fulham, Brentford and Brighton are aiming for Europe <laugh>

    Brendan Rodgers sacked. Not a surprise really, they've slept walked into the thick of a relegation battle and he seems to have lost his way a little there.

    It's the right decision but I don't think he's done all bad there. He won them the FA Cup and he's clearly working with diminishing returns in the transfer market when losing players like Schmeichel, Fofana, Chilwell, Maguire etc in recent years and always replacing them with inferior players. Then throw in that Jamie Vardy is now too old and they've never replaced him, a big slump was kind of inevitable.

    I still think he's a decent manager who will do well somewhere else. He'll get another mid table Premier League job.
