Today, the UK's official criteria for what constitutes a city remain opaque, but those put in place in 1907 remain a good rule of thumb: home to at least 300,000 residents, a distinct identity that is the centre of a wider area, and a good record of local government. There are now 69 official UK cities (there would be 70 but Rochester, a cathedral city since 1211, became a town in 1998 after it neglected to confirm its status following local government reorganisation).
2 goals off ricochet’s- someone up there doesn’t like us after the farce at Rotherham and todays cruel finish.
Ahh Matty my boy... Not seen you for a while. Should have known you'd put your head above the parapet when the points were secured.... There we go, you gloat away again for the second season running but deep down in your heart I know that you know you needed some bloody luck to see us off today. Enjoy your evening my friend.
He was poor but we didn’t lose due to him. We lost for far too many basic reasons: Conceding possession and not doing enough get it back Losing far too many second balls and 50/50’s Standing off them Creating nothing apart from Philogene (who got lucky with a gk howler) Not lumping it into the box in second half with 2 big men up front Taking wrong options - Ojo first half should have slipped in Kaba Playing so deep in last 10 minutes inviting them onto us Not shooting enough at a suspect keeper Not having a LB on the bench Starting with Ralls Etc etc basically the squad isn’t good enough for this league; at the end of the day conceding too many clumsy goals and scoring too few goals and failing to beat enough teams around us in 6 pointers
In, out, in out, shake it all about You do the Double Double And you turn around That’s what it’s all about. Whoa-o the Double Double Whoa-o the Double Double Whoa-o the Double Double Knees bend, arms stretch rah, rah, rah!................
Totally agree Nin. Let’s face it, they were the better team today. Completely dominated the midfield and their passing game is so far advanced than ours. I really fear for our Championship survival now.
I'm going to actually take some heart from this TBH. Taking the emotion and massive disappointment out of it, coming back from 2 down, going toe to toe with them regards possession etc. once we got past the opening 15 minutes I actually thought we did well to get back into it. Their 2nd came a little against the run of play in my very humble opinion. Had we had better game management and seen out the last 5 minutes we'd have been a lot happier. Onwards and upwards with a bit of luck. Putting this one down to the Stroud effect and some rotten luck! Bloooooooooobirds!!
