Off Topic TV series - good and bad

Blue lights on Iplayer is good.

 

Just seen Netflix are doing a film of The Last Kingdom, thought they had finished the series without much room to carry on. But I will look forward to it all the same. The tv series was class!

 

The Bill Cosby documentary is excellent.

 

Been watching a comedy called Dave, like it a lot. The opening scene is a pretty fair example of what to expect:

It's not all dick jokes Dave is a likeable guy and there's a good story. Recommended if you like dark humour with heart.

 

Colin from Accounts is a decent Australian comedy.

 

Alese should be fined for saying Eastenders! What's the obsession in our squad with Prison Break? After a fairly good first season, it was utter ****e.

 

Spot on was ****e once he broke out! My obsession back then was The Shield.

 

Another vote for Night Agent here, not a classic by any means but good viewing.

 

watched it last night, it's the ending of what happens to Utred, most of it good a few bits of gay shyte but you can fast forward 7 out of 10 . Never watch ordinary telly now as the adverts are such a put off,you pay for a tv package with your internet then you get bombarded with ads full of London foreigners much prefer netflix.

 

The Shield was class. One of the most underrated tv shows ever. Walton Goggins was superb in that and also in Justified which was another cracking show.

 

Yeah he was excellent in The Shield, when he dropped the grenade in the car . Also very good in sons of anarchy, I think I saw the majority of the main characters turn up in sons of anarchy.

 

I'm glad you reminded me will watch it this week. Excellent show this imo!

 

I'm surprised we've got this far in the thread without regular talk of Succession.

It's the best TV show of recent years by a stretch in my opinion and the latest episode was absolutely outstanding.

 

I heard someone mentioning how good this is the other day on the radio never even seen a trailer mate. No idea what it's about even but having heard that review the other day and read this might have to have a look.

Been watching Mr Mercedes recently mainly cause of Brendan Gleeson. Not as good.as I was expecting!

 

It's sensational mate and gets better series on series. The 4th will be the final one too, so they're not milking it with filler.

I think I watched a bit of Mr Mercedes a few years back but gave up on it.

 

Just on to the second series and it's all a bit slow!

 

Love a bit of Goggins, great in Justified and comedies like Vice Principals and Righteous Gemstones. He's one of the leads in the new Fallout show, could be interesting if it's one of the rare video game adaptations that isn't ****e.

Succession is awesome, really great writing and the funniest insults on tv. Really absorbing story too. I didn't think I was going to like it but I was very wrong.

 

Started watching this because of you - loving it. Watched 5 episodes yesterday, will finish it this afternoon. Love the soundtrack. Really good story, with some very amusing bits. Pissed myself when the Dutch guy did the air drumming to 'can you feel it OK the air tonight.'

 

Beef on Netflix is really good, it's about two very different people who have a minor traffic incident which rapidly escalates into a war against each other. Funny and sharp and deals with some deep stuff about how it feels to be pissed off at how life turned out.
