After the second jab, I did feel sick with covid symptoms for the first day. But prior to being vaccined against that variant I caught it normally, at that point I was a bouncer and I guarded the first night the bars and clubs reopened, it was like a covid hotbox, I caught it my first day back at work after not even having the sniffles during lockdown. It was ****ing horrific, the worst illness I have ever had, easily. I remember having a fever so bad that my entire body was shaking, shaking so badly that my muscles were cramping and aching like I was running a marathon. It's like my body didn't know what was going on. The chronic headache however was the worst, I just could not sleep a wink. I'd take the vaccine all over again over having that **** one more time.
T I've only had it once and was on the verge of being admitted to hospital but agree in relation to the headaches that was easily the worst part as felt if head was on verge of exploding for hours and hours.
1st vaccine - was tired that evening, but nothing further. 2nd vaccine - nothing. Both times I cried like a fanny as I had a sore arm though Went right through almost the whole thing without anyone catching it in our household. Wife and 2 kids (3 and 8). We weren't particularly careful, but I would say broadly respectful of what we were asked to do. I went all over, whenever I could. BBQ festivals in London, trips with the lads to cities, train travel, clubbing, XC races... Not a sniff. Finally caught it April 2022. Little lass brought it from school. She was a bit hot one night, then fine. Little lad got snotty, again, one hot night then fine. Mrs was next to test + and she was a bit scabby for a few days and I caught it but didn't have a single symptom, but I tested positive for 15 days. Wouldn't have known I'd had at all it if it wasn't for regular testing in order not to kill my grandad. Weird virus... Affects so many people with such differing levels of severity.
I don't know why there has to be so much animosity between the vaccinated or non vaccinated. Actually i don't think there really is, that's another thing the media blow out of all proportion, bsr the odd person having a rant on a message board. Most of my family had it and i haven't, they know i haven't, we just crack on as normal, it hasn't changed how we feel about each other.
I think its pretty obvious I do have more important things to be doing, hence it might take 6 weeks to respond - perhaps you should find better things to be doing if that is your barometer for such things? I simply pointed out this was flawed. You're not listening to me over scientists either. You've again dismissed a very qualified scientist simply because he doesn't fit the narrative you like. Its not me saying its not traceable etc. I mean I did point this out to you in the post you replied to, but as with many who don't like hearing these things, you've went off on your own tangent.
I respect your position mate. Each to their own as it should always be when it comes to vaccinations and such like. I think we both know however a portion of society forgot the need for this kind of moral compass in the height of the pandemic when they wanted to go all Nazi and make it mandatory. They haven't acknowledged that shoddy behaviour I note. Unfortunately I couldn't agree with your assessment of your friend. I think he died from COVID whether he'd been vaccinated or not. I think this is the general misconception which the figures have trodden on over time - that the vaccines somehow guarantee or give you a better chance of survival. It isn't borne out by statistics - you would struggle to present any up to date data which supports that notion. I think some people are just very unlucky with this particular kind of virus, which to be fair is the same with flu and many other viruses. I think its important for clarity that fully vaccinated people in their 40's , fit and active, have also died. The gamble for me was the vaccine not very virus. I had first hand experience with a brother who chose to be vaccinated, early 30's, fit and healthy with no issues, had a heart scare post jab. He was lucky to get in with a doctor who actually admitted to him that it could be as a result of the jab. He has got the relevant monitoring etc since. Doctors are finally starting to acknowledge the dangers of the jab. There were quite a few on here who just refused to believe they could cause any harm. They haven't managed to be as vocal to say they were wrong I note. Mind the same people believed them when they told them it stopped you passing it on and all the other ridiculous lies we were fed. I think that would be the disappointing aspect of the whole affair, if you look at the comments on here and elsewhere, people have chosen to bury their head rather than manning up and learning from their poor behaviours and errors of judgement. Its difficult though when you chuck all your eggs in one basket, no one likes being wrong.
Same for me. My family in the main were jabbed. Me and one of bros weren't. Bar my mam and gran getting a bit arsey for a month at the height (avid BBC watchers), all of us have just got on with it. Certainly no long lasting ill will. I must admit I don't bear anyone ill will, even those who lost their marbles and went full gestapo wishing death or making all manner of unsavoury comments to those who dared to take their own choice. Everyone makes mistakes and there was the mitigating factor of the government scaring the **** out of them with their ****ty propaganda.
Much less likely to die mate. You're better off targeting one of the vaccinated, their odds are slimmer
What I've been fed? **** off. With a couple of vaccine doses, his body would have been better prepared for what happened. Regardless of what you purport the after effects to be, that's how vaccines work. They've been used for many years. I mean, everyone has their opinion and I'll take almost no stock in yours as I don't know you from Adam, but what precisely makes you sure that in the case of Obi's mate, as well as my own, they'd have been no better vaccinated?
Test run for bringing in ID cards etc isn't it. Remember all that rubbish about having to have a vaccine pass or negative test to get into the ground, one game there were a bunch of stewards on the turnstile i was going in, they asked if i had the vaccine and i said yes, scanned my ticket and went in. They didn't specify which vaccine, so i wasn't even lying as i've had the TB jab
What's the narrative that Toonarmy and Pouch are pushing here? This narrative that we are all scourned, angry people because we were duped? "I don't understand the animosity" conveniently ignoring the fact that Pouch comes back after 6 weeks, says we were all duped by a conspiracy, he is now stronger and more powerful, if only we had the genius of him. Toonarmy can say what he likes, but at the exact same time, we don't know him at all he just posts a gif or something and that's that. There isn't an animosity against the non-vaccinted. No one gives a flying ****, unless you start acting the ****. Look at Pouch's novels, which he insists on posting and how he ends every, single, one. It is always along the lines of "well, if only they were as smart as me." He's a prick, thats all, we point and laugh.
Welshie.. I wasn't really on about people on here, this forum is quite good for tolerating different opinions i find. It was just a general comment about the wider internet, i was banned on Newcastle-online for daring to go against the masses on there who thought the vaccine was God, daring to question it on there got me banned.
