    Notts County Statement...

We are devastated to report the loss of our much-loved chief executive, Jason Turner.

Jason, who passed away suddenly last night aged 50, was appointed in 2016 and devoted himself to the club thereafter.

He was an outstanding CEO who was respected across football having also worked for Bath City, Newport County, Plymouth Argyle and Cardiff City.

Gosh, that is a shock and a sad loss, 50 is no age to pass away. RIP.

One of my favourite song from the sixties, we used to go to the Tavern in the Town in York and there was a regular group that played A Whiter shade of pale regularly which was an excellent cover version.

He was going through a hard time when I got to know him.He was living in a HMO(renting a bedroom in a council house) and drank a lot.Worked as a carpenter for a local mobster who I laboured for...

I always found it quite profound that such a boxing legend was so down on his luck.

    RIP Ken Buchanan.

Anyone who went toe-to-toe with Roberto Duran when he was at his very best, deserves a mention.

It just shows how things have changed and purses and salaries are now telephone numbers. Any sportsman from the 70's and 80's must look at their counterparts today and think 'if only'....

He used to come through to see Roger Tighe when he had the Kings Arm pub in Bridlington. Very nice man.
