Hexham 245 Gypsy lee rose was 25 l behind the fav kildrum lto , GLR had just had windsurgery so should be better for that run . There is also an 11lb swing this time and with the conditions on the heavy side GLR should get the better of kildrum. 9/2 looks very fair
Cost of sending your mare to Frankel 200,000.00 Sales price as a yearling 130,000.00 Value to the winner of your first race 2,614.00
The full brother (2 years younger) sold, in October '22, for a whopping 450,000 gns. The way the market is at the minute the daft thing is is that if Charlie's Numbers obliges easily this afternoon, in a 5 runner race, his value will probably be back to somewhere approaching that 130,000 gns.
Just a person opionion, I must emphasize that! If I was wealthy enough to own racehorses (and I'm not! ), I most certainly would not consider racing them in the UK, just to fatten-up bookies' already overloaded purses. I'd race them in France, or even Germany (with regular visits to France). Just doesn't make a lot of sense to own racehorses in the UK (even if it's just a piece of an arm or leg, part ownership seems pretty complicated to me). However, I do wish Chan the best of luck if he does decide to have a go, and that he and his co-owners are treated fairly by the trainers.
Flat season starts in earnest on Saturday with the Lincoln Handicap (April 1st, would you believe it!) and cannot resist the usual modest crack at it. Very unusual for me, but this time I've done an ante-post on Atrium at the current odds of 12/1. Wish William Buick was available (rode the gelding to an impressive victory over 1m at Doncaster in September last year), but have a feeling WB will be riding elsewhere for Godolphin/Charlie Appleby? Edit: Clean forgot to mention the wager was E/W, just for 4-places though.
Thanks Swanny. To be honest I wouldn’t really count these micro share options as ownership. I may find one just to see what you get for a very small outlay. As Nass indicates on another thread it’s probably no more than an email every month and a raffle to play an owner for a day. I totally agree about running horses elsewhere other than UK. The NH prize money on offer in France would get my attention if I was a proper owner with a say.
