This was a good performance - by ALL the Gills players....and not a bad match to watch - despite the terrible officials - how can they not see at least ONE incident of shirt pulling... Some of it was incredibly blatant - even Stevie Wonder would have noticed ! The overall effort was excellent - and I probably would have said the same even if it had been an injury time defeat !! With this type of performance, it will take only a couple of tweaks for next season, to put Gills in the top 3.
Agree Gills were good but Carlisle were pretty poor despite there league position. There manager said that was probably there worst performance this season and Gills deserved to win. Got no idea about next season but certainly won't be near bottom
I was at the game yesterday, and thought that was an outstanding performance from start to finish. The Gillls looked very solid at the back and whilst not creating a host of chances definitely kept control of a tight game and deserved that last minute winner. Anyone who watched the game without knowing the 2 clubs relative positions would have thought that the Gills were the side pushing hard at the top of the league and Carlisle were the mid table side. Carlisle really offered nothing other than 15 min spell in the 2nd half where they had a bit of possession and a single shot. The turn around has been quite incredible and team is unrecognisable from the one I saw a couple of times last year. Onward and upwards for The Gills and at a great time for me personally as after 12 years I am coming off of shift work and getting my Saturdays back, meaning that a season ticket is back on the agenda for next season.
