The creative theatre that is been played out as l see it. Partygate is being judged by a chairman who consistently broke the law when she was justice secretary, these transgressions were sweep under the carpet by a P M who took on himself to invade Iraq without evidence of WMD. He also never faced a court.

Parliamentary members now get away with so much now because of actions of the past. They are not fit to judge their fellow members IMO.
Johnson Blair and Harman should be whipped off to the tower and their heads removed.
Despite the fact l despise these people, it's not theatre its hypocrisy.

 

Thankfully that's not the case.

She's not a judge and the committee consists of Tory, Labour, etc, she has no more power to judge than anyone else as far as I know.

It's irrelevant whether or not anyone believes she broke the law or not, she was elected unopposed.

Johnson himself used the fact that he didn't receive multiple police fpn's as proof of innocence ...

Imagine if, when Boris Johnson was standing at his 'this is a major crisis' lecturn, he was asked if leaving parties, with booze and speeches, were considered essential and therfore exempt from lockdown guidance.

He'd have said they weren't ...

... sadly no one would've asked such a puerile, ridiculous, question.

 

Ah but you see, it WASN'T a party. It WAS a "work event", and apparently these two things bear absolutely no comparison as they are entirely different things. And in no way whatsoever is that semantics, no siree. And as anybody knows there was no music, and therefore cannot be construed as a party, as a party MUST have music

 

Even if it was absolutely essential to have a gathering, to wish a colleague farewell, there was no need to have booze, music, speeches etc ...

,,, and, lets not forget, one of these leaving do's was for Dominic Cummings who wasn't even there

 

The toast for Demonic Cummings was to absent "friends".

 

" The gathering in the flat where Mr Johnson and his wife lived was to celebrate the departure of Dominic Cummings."

In which way was this deemed essential, during a lockdown, and how is such a celebration not a party.

 

Hang on a minute, Boris is just consulting his dictionary to find synonyms of the word "celebrate" to use as a substitute for it. In Bonko's mind that sentence would then have an entirely different meaning and he would therefore be innocent

 

This is how I feel about it as well. They all seem above any real scrutiny with accountability and Johnson is just the current main character. Others have gone before and sadly others will follow I think. It isnt about one party or the other, it is the system we have which allows this sort of thing to occur and be self managed.

 

Surely the buck stops with the PM and they should set the tone ...

... if not it becomes the shambles Johnson encouraged.

 

These people were simply leaving a job . Others were leaving this mortal plane and weren’t allowed anyone around them to say bye.

 

Quite right, it's been going on for too long. In the noughties one man Cambell cleared the mess, Johnson had a guy called Cummings who sold his boss down the river.

 

Yes particularly true in the case of this woman in her 90's burying her husband of 70 years. Abiding by the rules was good enough for Queen Elizabeth II, but not apparently for Emperor Bonko. He is above all that mullarkey.

 

But don't forget, some of the parties were for people leaving one post and moving on to another post ...

... just imagine how traumatic that would be for colleagues who may have known them for weeks, perhaps months, and may not bump into them again for days.

It does yes. My point is Blair, for example, was the subject of enquiries about misleading parliament. Sturgeon the same. Now it is Johnson. We seemed to have learned nothing from the past so how do we expect to learn from the present, unless something fundamental changes in UK politics. Unless there are real sanctions, with real consequences, it will keep happening in my opinion. Johnson will go on to be successful elsewhere like Blair has. There needs to be a handbrake somewhere.
