He’ll be hung drawn and quartered.
Inquiry already made up its mind.
All a waste of time and money

In other news the well regarded champion of equality and feminism Andrew Tate remains in custody.

A couple of days ago I would have agreed .

I have since read that the Tory members of the committee are worried , because if he loses his status over this , then there will be a by election at his old seat .

    if they lose that…..

If this was an independent fact finding inquiry Johnson would be found guilty as charged and barred from ever being an MP again.
The fact is a group of liars, which essentially is what an MP does for a living, is grilling an overgrown schoolboy and the biggest liar of them all, about intentionally/unintentionally misleading the House. You can't Con a Conner!
They know that the man-child is guilty of lying but so too are the people asking the questions, they lie to the public everyday.
The whole MP’s committee thing is a bloody farce.
I had to switch the live feed off, I couldn't listen to anymore of Johnston's bullshit. Enough is enough.

If they lose that? So what? They lose one seat. It doesn’t change the parliamentary arithmetic in any meaningful way. There are many reasons why they might shirk on a proper punishment but losing a by election in one seat probably isn’t very high on the list

It’s not just 1 seat though , it’s more mud slinging and I’m sure the Tories would rather avoid that .

It would by humiliating for Johnson and the torys and further highlight the lies, deceits and corruption of the current incumbents. I don't see the necessary set of circumstances happening though.

I can’t believe he said the committee wouldn’t find him guilty as they have no evidence.

They're already coated in - okay, let's call it mud - from head to toe mate. Worst government in my long lifetime, an absolute shower. They need chucking in the bin immediately.

Good to see Robert (long pause) Peston on the ITV news saying that it was the Tory MPs that were giving Johnson the most difficult time, which should reduce some of the cries, that will probably be made, that this is being driven by Labour.
The bottom line, for me, is this.
If the man who helped create the rules, and was responsible for passing them into law, needs to be advised by people who didn’t make the rules, that he wasn’t breaking the rules that he created, he really isn’t competent enough to be an MP.
Hopefully he will be suspended for 10+ days and a by election called, with the Tories losing the seat.

Can't see it personally. If the committee recommends a suspension I can't see it getting past the vote in House of Commons.

You’re probably right, but I think more and more of the public are now seeing Johnson for a liar and I can’t see him being saved by sycophants in the vote being good for the Conservative Party, so that might even be a better all round result.

James O’Brien really doesn’t like Johnson, nor his hangers on. A longish video.

I was ridiculed duirng the Covid pandemic for saying this but I will reiterate my opinion in that laying in Parliament will only be the tip of the iceberg for Johnson. I can see the issue of the management of the pandemic being a major problem for him after the enquiry has been concluded. The award of contracts will be the start of things starting to take a criminal turn and the more investigators dig, the more dodgy stuff will come to light. I think it will be far more serious than the Iraq enquiry and the consequences will be far more serious than for Blair who was intelligent enough to shake some of the problems off. The tone of today's meeting made it clear that the outcome for Boris will not be good and he is going to get suspended from being an MP. I thunk his politcal career is over.

Ultimately, I feel that the Tory PMs will turn on Boris very quickly and the Conservatives will try very hard to distance themselves from him. I still believe that Boris will end up facing some sort of criminal charge. I am not saying that he will be found guilty nor that he will be sentenced but I am sure that they will ultimately find something to charge him with. It is just a consequence of the way he works. The full story will probably not play out until a further two years.
