Fooster, as the leading authority on all things Kindle I've got another couple of questions.

Can you access and browse the internet or just download papers etc.? Specifically, can you go on internet explorer, send E mails for a Hotmail account etc.?

If not, what is the point of the keyboard? And also what would be the point of buying the one which costs £60 more than the cheaper one?

    Thanks.

You're missed. This thread is dead without you, we're off conversing on the banter one when you're not about. Otherwise it'd be just Sweats, Tunns and me.

Plus, practically no one at all on the board actually wants to discuss football. Unless it's one of the less cerebraly blessed ones talking like children as if football was invented by Sky.

Why thank you. Good to have one that doesn't have me looking like Mr Potato head and gurning like an idiot.

The camera in our house points at me one in every 675 photographs ever taken!

I've been on GC a bit too, the banter thread seems to have fizzled out. Even when I made my post first thing Monday about how their signings are ****e, in a nutshell, I didn't get a single bite.

Weeks back the OP, the tediously stupid Berb, started a 'thread' about Tevez when he refused to play against Bayern. My initial reaction was that do we really give a **** given he no longer plays for us and is, therefore, a total irrelevance. That's all really. He's refers to it weeks after and is so stupid that he can't see the difference.

I've got no time for some thick prick from Kent who has never been within 200 miles and has absolutely zero right to call himself a United fan, let alone offer his opinions on the club.

To me, he is the new 'Scholes'. Without the humour and football nouse though. Ergo, beneath my contempt.

All quiet on the western front, eh?

Yep. If you were to fancy a piss up then I'd be well up for it. Not exactly on your door step of course.

Those on the GC are a good deal more intelligent and sharp, if a little sadistic and sick, than most you get on the football forums!! Some of them anyway, that Loiner/Leeds 18 piece of ****e hangs around on there and Joker is a **** with zero humour at all. Which is ironic.

I've not had a run in either, I just can't stand Joker and Loiner.

There is some funny stuff definitely. The Egyptians built the Pyramids though. Miracles of engineering they are.

Let me tell you, to postion those pyramids in blocks in such an exact way that the light of the sun fills the rest chamber of the Pharoe all the time and that the temperature is the same ALL the time is a feat of engineering that is nigh on impossible even now.
Aliens though? Nah, if they were so advanced why would the burgeoning population of our planet suddenly put them off from more visits and startling feats of engineering?

And as for the twin towers, don't get me started on that.

Awight dudes? Been rather busy of late with plays etc. Tags, the Kindle is able to access the net, but it's very much embryonic in its capabilities. I would never use it to surf as a) it's slow and cumbersome and b) it's in black and white.

You can use it to have your emails bounced to you from another source but again I'm guessing you'll have a bb which will do the job a million times better.
Newspapers are well supported but again, they're in b&w.

They've brought out the Kindle Fire tablet which, I'm guessing, will be much more compatible with email & surfing but it's obviously a more generic device as opposed to a dedicated reading gadget - and it's more expensive (but still cheap compared to other tablets - less than £200). The big advantage with a kindle is purely the convenience of a massively economic battery and dedicated reading features.

Go for the new (cheaper) one as the physical keyboard option isn't a massive advantage - it's primarily used for searching for books on the Kindle store or making notes on pages of books (I'm in a book group so it helps with remembering **** about the book). You'll get a virtual keyboard (not touch screen) though so you still have the option of surfing/note making etc.

They're a bloody good bit of kit mate and as I said a bit ago, I've got a thousand books on disc that I can send you.

    Go for it!

Going well at the minute mate, cheers. Lots of reading etc to do but I like that side of it. Lots of bellends around the place but you got to expect that on performing arts courses - they all think they have to act the flamboyant **** to live up to their stereotype. Kids though, so what are you gonna do?

Yeah just let me know your details whenever, and I'll get this load of ebooks fired off.

****ing international weekends really REALLY piss me off. Especially friendlies. Pointless ****. We'll get our arses handed to us as well. ****ing GOOD!

It is dull, luckily for me I'm on a speed awareness course tomorrow so that should dull the boredom of a Saturday without football! Joy of joys, I don't even believe I was feckin speeding anyway, the bastards.

The break is a good thing for us though, gives Rooney a break and Young the chnace to get rid of his niggles and all the injured players a rest. I can see Jones getting injured in it, I just think he'll pull something tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to our next game more than any other this season. Been a long time to see United come down to my adoptive town and I'm sat on the fence really. I wouldn't be remotely dissappointed if Swansea won, this place would go wild and it'd be great. Still, giving them a bloody lessson would be amusing too. Not that we will, the way we're currently playing we might get ourselves a no nonsense 2-0 win. They don't lose many at the Liberty though.

Speed awareness course is 4 hours of your life you'll never get back.. I'd recommend taking a stapler so you can staple your bollocks to the chair to amuse yourself...
