Looking at Uniteds squad unless they decide to sell Diallo i wouldnt be surprised if he was allowed to come back next season. He seems to be enjoying it here. Or is it just wishful thinking.

Got a feeling he will go out on loan to a bottom half prem club. But there is hope as it doesn't make sense to his development cause the type of games he will experience in a loan like that won't be in line with what they will want him to play like for them! So makes more sense to go to a club that will play attacking football everyweek

Someone like Fulham would be a good fit for another loan for him

Would love to see it but I can see him playing for Man U next season, he’s certainly no worse than Antony

Whilst I can't praise this lad enough, him coming back could hamper the development of the kids we've signed permanently, so if the club thinks our own can do a job then I wish him well wherever he ends up.

Wishful thinking mate. They didnt pay 37.5m for him to loan him out to a Championship club for 2 years

Think he goes on loan to one of the promoted sides. Like Burnley.

If Boro go up especially with the Carrick connection (he would have played for him at Utd) then I can see that being an almost certainty

I remember when Derby had Mason Mount, Tomori and Harry Wilson on loan in the Championship.
I hope we can unearth another gem of a loan signing next season to help get us back where we belong in the Premiership

I dont really see him coming back personally. I think the club may see themselves as having enough in wide areas. Doesnt mean we wont make some very exciting loan signings though. There are lots of other players at top end premier clubs who coule have a similar impact with us.

This is the only loan that's worked for him.

Yeah. Ideally you want to see season on season progression in a player. Similar to what we did with Pickford - each loan is a step higher than the last.
I have my doubts about Amad's ability to play top half PL, but he's so young he can improve. I'd love to see him back here next season

Amad and Roberts are a super combination and probably of top half premiership quality, its possible we might see both playing for Boro next season, and go to man U after that, what a dream that would be for all concerned. as I cant see anything but progress next season for us no matter what.

They will understand that he needs to play games to develop. If they think hes good enough to break into their matchday squad they will keep him

If they aren't sure yet he will go back out.

However they will likely feel he has already proven himself at this level so no point coming back

So the logical conclusion is that he goes to a premier league club that wont be a threat to them, i.e bottom half.

If Utd were to loan him instead of putting him in the match day squad I think they’ll be looking to see what he can do at a pl club

You’re probably right about a loan to a lower level PL club next.

With strong red and white specs on, I reckon it would be best for Amad’s development to come back here next season and continue playing in an exciting, attacking team. This would be with a lot of players he already knows so would be a head start .

If our recruitment team can pull off even better work in the summer then we could have some serious, lower PL level talent in the squad.

I think Ten Hag will give him a try.

The loan has worked for both parties. The player is stronger and more confident now on top of his known talent.

If the lad goes on loan again, I think it will be PL, but after Christmas. Unless we somehow fluked a promotion of course, which isxalmost what it would take now, then he could end up back here on loan

This is real conundrum. The lad is an exciting talent,no doubt. Man U paid a lot of money for him,but under a regime maybe about to change. If their ownership changes hands, would they consider him PL ready....probably not. New owners may be prepared to cut losses in order to facilitate a more oven ready squad.
I suppose a lot depends on whether the lad has enjoyed his time with us and would want to stay, which would cost.
Could be the first really big test of KLD transfer policy?

We might be prepared to pay £12 million or so (roughly double what we paid for Clarke) but it’s doubtful Man U would take that. £12 million plus add ons if we get promoted, maybe? It is possible but right on the edge of what I think our model is.

A big test for the club, like you say. We’ll also see the size of the bids needed to prise away some of our talent in the summer.
