Peter Murrell - husband of Nigela McFarage, Chief Exec of the SNP, generous lender of over 100k his wife somehow didn't immediately notice or miss - has resigned in a 'row over membership numbers'. Oh, it's about numbers alright, but not membership numbers.
This was in a newspaper this week. Obviously a really old story, but I get the sense some media outlets just starting to put a little squeeze on Labour ahead of the election. There have been a few little stories that have been a bit uncomfortable. Today I read the lawyer who led the inquiry into racism in the labour party for Starmer is critical of how they havent done enough, in his opinion, in areas other than anti-semitism. On the other hand Boris is likely to put up such a 'show' next week it will be the only story for weeks. I dont know whether to get popcorn or earplugs for it.
‘Obviously a really old story’ Being re-hashed just before the Boris **** show. OMG get out your deflector helmets.
Most interested people will watch some of this performance from Boris Johnston but, of course, only some will be accused of having him living rent-free in their heads. The Boris man crush fan club will defend him no matter the outcome and, if he's made to look like a lying weasel, will post a story about how Tony Blair once lied about a parking fine he had. What's sure is that, despite the serious nature of the enquiry and the hurt suffered by many ordinary people, Johnson will sit there grinning like he's been called into the headmaster's office for letting off a stink bomb ... ... there's something that stinks all right Mr Johnson
This should be fun on aircraft on the 23rd of April. A siren-like alert will be sent to mobile phone users across the UK next month to test a new government public warning system. The test is expected to take place in the early evening of 23rd April. "A message will appear on the home screens of peoples' devices during the test, with vibration and a loud warning sound that will ring for about 10 seconds, even if the phone is set to silent." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-64999417
Given tomorrow is 20 years since the start of the Iraq war I suspect Blair will be back in the news again. Pointing to stories about him wont be difficult. Most people will treat the Boris story without reference to Blair. I suspect 99% people already have made their mind up about Johnson and I imagine his demeanour will only cement their opinion as accurate.
Can already imagine this being linked to facial recognition prompting this siren to go off as you walk down the street with the message "You have been seen dropping litter, penalty notice £100". Big Brother is coming
And who will be allowed to opt out is the big question. People will say they don't mind because they have nothing to worry about ... ... but we all do a bit more than 70mph on the motorway or park outside the newsagent on yellows on Sunday mornings. To think I used to laugh at George Orwell's fantasies
Instead of just holding his hands up, appearing decent and contrite ... ... "Boris Johnson is to submit a dossier of evidence ahead of an interrogation by MPs over whether he lied to Parliament about the partygate scandal. The former prime minister will provide information in his defence as he prepares for a lengthy televised grilling by the Commons privileges committee on Wednesday."
Credit Suisse now taken over under instruction from swiss govt. A hugely significant global bank. This is worrying times again and another global factor that can easily push us backwards.
It seems dear old Bonko is still trying to be a mini-me Trump, saying its illegal to try him for lying...
Surely it would appear more open and honest to walk in, tell the truth and show everyone he's not concerned ... .... rather than walking into another fridge, hiding away and refusing to answer any questions.
Problem is in Bonko's mind, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary he IS telling the truth. He is so far down the path of lying that he has convinced himself the lies are true.
You can only make a judgement based on what you see tbh mate. There are some seriously aggrieved people, who suffered in the lockdowns and lost loved ones ... ... thankfully I'm not in that category. If Johnson sits there grinning, and trying to make it all a big joke, I could imagine it reflecting badly and confirming what people already think of him. He seems to be totally convinced that 'his natural charm' will always help him get away with things. It's not enough for him just to be PM, work hard and get things done ... ... he has to actually be the story.
His main defence will be that it was a "work event". Never mind the fact that those 2 words were so obviously dreamt up by Bonko and nobody had never heard the phrase before, do we really want a government making possibly life or death decisions whilst half cut?
