In one way im glad im out of the country for most of the games this season, i dont have to then suffer the same levels of frustration! when you hear about the hardcore fans losing out to pricks like those 2 at Liverpool ,it does make the blood boil. Of course the answer is to have a bigger stadium, but heres where it gets really annoying!! if we built a bigger stadium and got relegated we (the hard core, die hard) would all end up sitting in a half empty stadium wondering where all the Plastics went!! This is what we have all dreamed about, and its a real shame that quite a few people who watched the team regular last season(and seasons before) are missing out to the plastics, it could be worse though, thanks to dodgy satalite decoders fans are still able to enjoy the match experience and i hear Pubs like the Mill ,the George and a load of others are creating a real good atmosphere, not the same i know but at least there are alot of kindrid spirits there together
a bigger stadium wont be the answer, the same thing would happen but on a easier and bigger scale, there is a huge amount of money to be made with just 5 Swansea tickets and you multiply that with other clubs who some will have derby matches and you are talking about a lot of money and easy money too to be made.......Its big business run on a professional scale except for the local plonkers who do it because they can....
Scottswan Let me throw this into the mix for you , Swansea sold 94 first time season tickets to persons who reside at irish post codes, it will probably be their first game as well
Scottswan I sympathise with you, i am still bouncing about it, its a f****ing disgrace and i dont think i am alone in thinking that
As with other events, SCFC should introduce a rule that makes reselling tickets illegal. SCFC have to accept the majority of the blame for tickets being resold. They could easily stop it.
We've had this discussion though Mabon , how can the club turn away business ? Really we can't just sell tickets to people in the SA postcode, I know people who live further afield with season tickets. As for making it illegal casual, that suggests breaking the law, I am afraid there is no such legislation on the statute books that cover this, there are various bits of technology that could be used instead to stop or limit the reselling of tickets.

I went on-line through Jack Army membership about an hour after the tickets first went on sale - not a seat to be had. Luckily I get to see almost all matches live on TV this season .... but it's not like being there. So I am planning to catch some away matches at the bigger grounds.
They did go on sale to JA members though didnt they, wasnt it limited to those members with 58 or more points, which is effectively those that have attended every league game
Yes, but ST holders could buy extra tickets too I believe? I think the main argument is there are a lot of new ST holders who've probably only attended a few games and are making huge profits selling selected games.
Scott can I ask, how do we expand our fan base without selling tickets ? I am not defending people who are selling vouchers on at all, just wondering how do you think the club would know that by selling a season to client A , that he would sell his vouchers to clients b, c, d & e to make money ?
The real fan base, should have been given priority, and greater thought should have gone into this, and I have it from the finance directors mouth, that they did not handle the season ticket sale well, but I'm not going down the ifs and buts of that one, I'm confident that we have the right people at the Liberty who will genuinely learn, and improve as we progress as a club, I think it's easy to not look beyond our own personal needs, but sometimes you need to look at the bigger picture, and I'm happy that we will get there, on all fronts, as they say Rome was not built in a day, and it will take time to iron out the issues of capacity, seating, and abuse of ticket sales, but we'll get there, I'm sure! What a great club we are a part of aye............. please log in to view this image
We could have sold loads more tickets to most home games this season if they had been easier to get hold of, and if, obviously, the Liberty had a bigger capacity. The club (and I appreciate they weren't to know this so wouldn't have gambled) would've actually made more money by not selling so many season tickets and keeping more for matchday sales! I know they can't please everybody, it's just I am so, so gutted. On top of that, I'm aware there's probably thousands of people who have "better claims" to a ticket than I do, and they couldn't get one. I'm not saying I have all the answers, it just doesn't feel right, that's all. Edit: Agreed Phil. I'm confident in the club to learn from any decisions it makes which ultimately could've been done a bit better! I wouldn't have it any other way.
Yes Scott, but they panicked a bit, because they had a 5 Million plus, bonus bill for the players etc, for going up to the Prem, so that's why they decided to raise the money by selling out the stadium with season tickets, it raised the short term needed cash, but long term it took money out of the club, through lower ticket revenue! Needs must I suppose................ please log in to view this image
I don't agree because its not actually the swans selling tickets themselves, its the management company who handle that I believe, and even if the swans were selling tickets directly, how can they tell how successful and how much demand there is, if they start turning customers away what would that do ? How can they determine who is more deserving of the tickets? And Scott how can they sell less season tickets and gamble on matchday tickets? Phil can you tell me who are the real fan base are? And when we moved to the liberty our support doubled, out of those who are the real fans? And from the dark days of having 2k at a game, it went upto about 7k-8k on the last days of the vetch, can you tell me who are the real fans? And finally do we only have about 2k real fans because they were there during the those days of struggle.
scott, you said somewhere you have been ST for a few seasons but you dont have one this season, now from the clubs point of view why should they give priority to a non season ticket holder when they have a plastic ready and willing to buy a few tickets at full price?
