I do think a few of the calls were wrong today. Paul should have been on earlier as there were so many crosses going in the box until we subbed Arma & Mara on. However, he can do what he wants if he gets results and so far: Chelsea: W Leeds: L Leicester: W Man U: D 7 points from that is a great return and if (huge 'if') he keeps it up, will see us survive comfortably.
Just been on a Man Utd forum. They were saying it was 10 men v 12 saying the ref was one of us. Well now you know how the rest of us have felt for years you bunch of moaning twats. I bet none of them live in Manchester.
At the moment I'm backing Selles to pick his team. Ok there's always 'what if' moments, but right now his teams are beginning to give us some belief. Can't remember when that last happened in the last few months. Yes it's fragile, but a few steps at a time.
I don’t see how Armstrong offers more experience, he’s experienced in scoring against average teams in a league that isn’t this one. He’s genuinely one of the worst signings for a long time. Like others have said there’s at least 4/5 other players that should be being picked before him. We scuppered a lot of great chances today but there was one in particular where he had the ball down the line, it was 5 against 4 and he somehow picked out a red shirt. I can’t even remember the last time he looked like scoring a goal.
I think the issue is that Selles does his teamsheets in alphabetical order, so Adam Armstrong is always the first name...
You realise that @Change username to Billy will have to create another in-depth match thread for the Brentford match...
When mini Lincoln and I went to OT last season I saw far more of them heading South on the motorway than Saints fans
Someone once told me that Man Utd fans are the only fans in the country who complain about how far they have to travel for a home game.
In last week's fixture and today's fixture, previously we had conceded 18 goals in the 2 games. This season we conceded 0 goals against them. I am clinging on to any improvement or ****ty stat at the moment.
Go for a minimalist approach, something like "Same again on Wednesday, with one more goal, would be nice"
Says it all. Tough fixtures too - away against 2 of the big 6 and then relegation battles. You can read into it and think Chelsea were on awful form, Man u down to 10 and Leicester shoud have scored 2 or 3, but the fact is we are picking up points which is what matters. Plus, even before the red card I thought we were excellent today.
It's called the divine right to win football matches. Blimey, one day without Danny Murphy's analysis and you forget your place in the world.
Signs of life alert! What a cracking game. I am so happy to be enjoying the football again. And look I haven't read through the thread so I apologise for the duplication but what a performance by the lads who not only managed to hold off a team who went down to 10 players but they did away from home as well.
