So Wrighty and Shearer have pulled out of MOTD.

Has Lineker just committed career suicide?

I don’t understand. Are they supporting him or against him?

BBC has strict impartiality rules doesn't it? Even the football side needs to follow

It appears they support Lineker. I do wonder is this right. He has brought politics into a realm where he shouldn’t.

    What is going on? Discuss?

And I absolutely agree with that. There are German footballers in the PL how does it make them feel.

    Politics stays out of football.

Great news. He’s a leftie flag waiver who uses his platform (some of which is generated by his BBC career) to bash the government.

The BBC have done the right thing.

    He’s way overpaid too.

I actually agree with the part he shouldn’t be using his privilege to do his deeds.

I am just against pundits like him earning so much money, he is a basic host, he adds so little and he's on such a fat wedge.

In fact I want all three of them changed up, Shearer is a dreadful pundit.

His BBC wage is TV license money ffs.

They say freedom of speech exists but only legally. Everyone who controls the platforms and positions of influence still have the power to destroy people for their opinions.

No matter how much I disagree with someone, I'd never try to get them fired from their job, except in situations where their words imply they're a serious threat such as being pro-****phile and working in a kids ward or something.

    T

Main thing for me is that as he’s employed by the BBC. He’s meant to be impartial. He’s not.

As far as the other two are concerned I doubt we, the viewer, will notice their absence. Neither are good pundits. Compare them, and indeed just about every other football pundit, with the cricket or the golf ex players who are pundits and it’s like chalk and cheese.

If Shearer feels so strongly about it i assume he is also refusing to be paid for missing this episode.
