Pretty sure we will keep Ainsworth whatever happens. And he will be given a clean slate in summer ( restricted obviously by the fact that we sell a couple of players...and he gets in lower division "starlets"). If he has no effect on this "mob", the board and the fans will ( imho correctly) blame the players. In the autumn I thought we were definately table positions above our actual ability....but this mob should be able to hold a mid table position ...not have the worse record in the league
Put it like this, we will certainly blame the players, but Ainsworth’s saintly status amongst the fans might also begin to slip if we don’t see any improvement. He’ll be given plenty of rope but the doubts will creep in.
Yeh, we definitely need his help (who’d thought we’d be saying that?!). Just need the others in the treatment room to get back onto the pitch and do the business and tie down safety for the season.
Quick work by Watford sacking Billic and getting in Wilder. Their board obviously panicked when they saw they were playing us next week and thought they’d be stuck with Slaven a bit longer after they Put 3 past us with no reply.
Not just Watford - I suspect every club we have yet to play this season have their game up for us - after all who wants to be the guys who couldn't even win against us. To remove that stigma, we need a goodly;y number of wins before May 08
We need to play that team who is always guaranteed to lose to a team low on confidence who haven’t won for 12 games or whose striker last scored when Cameron was PM. Unfortunately for us that team is QPR and we cannot play ourselves.
