Was mentioned about Darlows comments on the state fo the pitch that sort of went under the radar. Seems the management again have an issue with it...

Hull City head coach Liam Rosenior says he continues to have positive discussions with owner Acun Ilicali about raising standards across the Championship club.

The City boss has given Ilicali a list of recommendations about how to improve the infrastructure of the club from top to bottom with a particular focus on the quality of facilities, and the need for investment.

One area of focus is the state of the MKM Stadium pitch now the rugby league season is back up and running and with the increased traffic on the playing surface, Rosenior says there needs to be work done to ensure it's fit for purpose.

"The better the pitch, the better it is for the players' well-being and the better it is for me for sure, with the way I want to play," he told Hull Live when asked about the state of the playing surface. "Bristol's pitch wasn't perfect but it was the same for both teams.

"There are certain elements within football that you just have to overcome. For me, where I feel really well-supported here is that every single thing I'm asking for, to be addressed to move the club forward, Tan (Kesler) and Acun have been right behind me trying to support that.

"There have been lots of talks about how we can make our facilities the best; the pitch, the training ground, and everything around us to give us the best chance of success.

"You want the best possible pitch to play on and that involves so much investment. How old is the pitch? Is the lighting that you need (up to scratch), do we have the facilities, do we have the personnel to give us the best opportunity to have the best pitch - these are all conversations we're having every single day."

Two things... wasn't the pitch re-laid during the summer 2022... and second re the lights, I thought we had invested in a lighting system to encourage growth.... was it flogged before Acun took over, or were we just renting it.

The lighting gear is in a compound outside the South Stand.

There's only been 1 Rugby match on it, and the moaning starts again.

Same for both sides....If ever you watch 'Big Match Revisited' you'll notice the large number of $hithole pitches, and I mean mud strewn gluepots, even into April. At least the technology has come on leaps and bounds in the past couple of decades. Very..very rarely see a baseball ground style of pitch, nowadays, if ever. That said BP was always immaculate.

Agree. A number of clubs share with union clubs who play at the same time during all the bad weather months of winter, and union damages a pitch more than league. Their pitches are OK, which suggests the problem is with the MKM pitch.
