Marsch played a more attacking high energy style. Throw caution to the wind, make them worry about us etc. That style creates lots of chances going forward but leaves the defence exposed at the other end. To play that style we needed defenders capable of defending one v one. We didn't have any. The defenders couldn't do it and ended up making mistake after mistake.

Javi has come in and he has obviously made us more traditionally defensive. The sacrifice we make to do that is that we won't create as many chances as before. That means the attacking players will need to be more clinical in front of goal if we are to keep scoring as we were under Marsch.

And so the issue has now flipped on its head. We are slightly better defensively than we were before the world cup. However, our attackers are still not putting the ball in the net as they are expected to do. Therefore we lose many games by the odd goal.

That's where we are. We don't dominate the stats like we did but our shape at the back looks more organised. Pick what you like really. Neither are exactly working because the defenders aren't good enough to defend without help and the strikers aren't good enough to score the goals we should.

Bottom line is that the players haven't performed to the standards they are capable of. That could be a manager problem? Yeah, sure but the stopped performing under Bielsa, never got going under Marsch and have shown little in the way of progress under Javi. That's 3 systems, 3 managers and same problem.

    Players.

Do we think they will still develop the stadium if we go into the championship?

49ers investment t i think goes ahead even if we go down.

Factor in Rodrigo though and we should get the best from back and front let’s hope he’s almost back because we have missed him and where the fook is Sinisterra

Yep. Hopefully Rodrigo comes back in top form.

I've seen enough of Sinisterra in his cameo appearances to see he is top quality. He's never really had too many injuries in his career.....until he came here.<doh>

I just hope we get them back and firing soon.....very very soon.

Doubt if wed need to. Not many clubs capable of drawing more than 37K in the championship

If this had been a Leeds player he would have been banned ages ago, yetTony still playing and getting his club closer to European places. This must surely be wrong as he has already admitted to most of the charges therefor should already be banned.

    • Toney pleaded guilty in response to many of the 262 charges issued by the FA
    • Striker is contesting others, however, with FA disciplinary hearing imminent
    • He is expected to begin serving a lengthy ban before the end of the campaign

Let’s see if you still think the same after a few more games.

Only one goalless performance so far under Javi and that was a difficult away game at Chelsea.

Didn’t we lose to Fulham 2-0 in the FA Cup, meaning one goal scored in three matches.

Forest supposedly have the toughest run-in and Bournemouth the easiest. This is only based on points per game so ignores whether games are home or away.

Well he has to find the balance. So far he has set up with a deep 4-5-1. That means we look a little more solid. The cost is that we've scored 1 goal in 3 games. I'd expect that to rise as we trundle along but our forward players aren't exactly ripping up trees this season (Rodrigo excepted).
