What is going on with our corners ?

Leeds are getting plenty of corners but never score from them , why ?

 

Because we have nobody able to lift a ball six foot off the ground to clear the first defender. Failing that we resort to little short ones hoping opposition defence will let us walk it into the net. Take note the Chelsea goal. That’s the simple way to score from a corner and they had same chance in first half but headed over

 

I remember when the most deadly corners were put in to two people standing at the near post (a near post corner) invariably one would get their head to it and flick it backwards, which caused no end of problems for the defence to deal with, seem to remember mcAllister was a good deliverer of this type of corner which more often than not ended up on Chapmans head. which i guess brings us full circle, we have no one to take a decent corner or a quality finisher

 

When we have a corner we crowd round the goalkeeper and in the 6 yard box , why don't or why haven't we run into the cross and head it in , this is why I went on about getting midget players a striker should be 6 foot plus and shave his head so he can head the ball in the right direction in case leeds players have forgot that is in between the goal posts and below the crossbar ha ha

 

I thought greenwood was supposed to be good at doing freekicks and corners ? Bringing posada back or joffy are another 2 midgets ha hs

 

Greenwood can’t take them when he’s never on the pitch

 

I reckon if you looked statistically across all clubs and matches probably only a small percentage of goals were scored directly from corners.

 

We only need an extra couple of goals from set pieces or corners to maybe add six points to our current total. We’d be well safe

 

But when he is on he does not score isn't he supposed to be a forward.

When he is on the pitch though he does not score only 1 goal in 5 matches , I thought greenwood was a forward / striker the only thing I like about him is he can hold a player off with his strength that can't be said for rutter

Agree , but your more likely running in on a cross and head it than to score just standing next to goal keeper like leeds do.

 

True but lots of players have stepped up gnoto must be only 18y or 19y and he bangs them in.

 

Summerville made the transition ok and scored against liverpool why can't greenwood ?

 

Because he’s likely better. I was no good as an 18 year old and never improved

 

If we survive this season In premiership we should get rid of the championship level players and deadwood and with our new wealth buy quality players with premiership experience like fermino out of contract , even Messi is available
