There are two Bet365 4/1+ offer races tomorrow the first is the 3.00 at Southwell and the second 4.50 at Kempton. At Southwell my selection is the Kevin Ryan trained EVERYMANFORHIMSELF at 20/1, KR has transferred his good flat season to the jumps with 2 wins from 5 and his horses seem to be in fine fettle. My selection is his only runner at Southwell tommorrow and with regular stable jockey Phil Makin on board he should go close off a 4lb better mark than his last win at Southwell in similar company that is on show here and is a very attractive EW proposition. At Kempton my selection is EMERALD WILDERNESS 7/1 who with his 3lb claimer is only 1lb worse off than his last win over C&D in similar company and from a similar draw he should go close again at a nice EW price. Good luck to all who play and if you do, play early before the 20/1 has gone
I agree with Wayward and believe Everymanforhimself is an insane price at 20/1. Is 2 from 3 at the track, with both victories coming from 1lb and 4lb higher marks. Has been running in better contests on the turf recently and in his prime won off 92 on both the turf and AW. Philip Makin is on board and I'll be shocked if he doesn't at least outrun his 20/1 pricetag.
Really excited to finally see Peddlers Cross tackle fences for the first time tomorrow. He is a country mile clear of the opposition and the result should be a formality. However, it is hoped that he puts in a polished display to confirm his position at the head of the Arkle market. It is difficult to recommend a bet at 1/8 on his first start over fences so a watching brief is advised. I think he's a really exciting horse and one i am very much looking forward to for the season ahead.
Interesting shout Wayward, I think Everymanforhimself is very well handicapped, hopefully it stays. One that stood out for me as being very close to the 'dangerously well handicapped' category was Kayf Aramis 9/1 in the 1.50 at Exeter. Twiston Davies has had his string running decent races without winning so far this month, and with a decent enough record fresh, I think Kayf Aramis might be capable of galloping many of these into submission with a prominent ride. Has mixed with some very good types in career, handicapper given it a bit of a chance off 136, and I fancy it to run into the frame. The other one I think might run a good race at a price is RIF in the 2.20 at Exeter. Trainer A M Hales is 28% at Exeter, boasting a £35.50 level stakes profit at the track. He does well with Paul Maloney, 24% strike rate with a £16.50 level stakes profit. He was pitched straight into novice hurdles by his trainer in 2010, and on 3rd start was 2nd, 13L behind Sarando, who some of you may have seen win off a mark of 149 this weekend, having been 2nd to Quito De La Roque at Aintree. Ran in a Grade 2 event won by Mossley since, seemingly outpaced before keeping on. Bags of stamina and I think looks a 3m chaser in the making. Will be very interested in how this one fares over the larger obstacles for a shrewd trainer whose best record is here at Exeter.
Don't know if anyone had chance to see the Exeter gallop for Big Bucks, Kauto Star, and Mon Parrain, but here it is. Big Bucks is remarkable. If he'd have been able to jump a fence, what an addition he would have been. Travels so imperiously.
Surprised your not putting up Rosairlie tomorrow Toppy! I deserted him for his last few runs but I think the step to 2m should suit and off the same mark and at 5/1 it looks a great price
Just in case your forgetting Toppy! 6.20 Kempton Rosairlie 5/1 Looks an absolutely mad price to me. Was quite an unlucky loser LTO at Wolves off this mark when going down by a head to The Drunken Dr at the end of October over 14f as he just failed to get up. She met a bit of interference around the home bend and if she had a clear run I am sure she would have got through to win. She has some quite nice form from her days as a 2 year old, most notably when a staying on 4L 5th on his 2nd start at Leicester over 8f last year. She finished behind a lot of very talented horses that day including Saddler's Risk now rated 95, the foiled favourite for the St Leger in Sea Moon, Estourah now rated 83 and First Batallion winner off 74. Although it is clear that she will never scale anywhere near these heights, its clear to me that a mark of 58 is well within her grasp. She seems an out and out stayer to me and the step up to 2m looks sure to suit. If transferring her run from Wolves to the right handed Kempton then I think she could make a mockery of both her current odds and indeed mark of 58 and it wouldn't surprise me if she won this by a distance.
Cheers Toppy for that... I always like watching Kauto, so regal how he runs with that beutiful head carry. As for Big Bucks, well what can you say... A proper monster of a runner. Never looks like he's trying, full of energy and so smooth. Have we ever seen him at full pelt really going for it, not yet i dont think... And Mon Parrain looks a good cruiser of a horse. And as Mick Fitz said on commentary not yet a star, but i think you can see the potential... Cheers Toppy, i enjoyed that a lot. In fact ive watched it 3 times now...
Morning all, quite like Kentford Grey Lady today in the last and its an e/w price so have invested. Backed a few others last night including Air Force One and Follow the Flag.
Good morning all, just... Not too much to get your teeth into today. A few that i like but not with the total backing of the hard earned cash, so maybe its a watching brief today... Though if i change my mind, as i almost prob will do, Golden Cheiftan at Exeter in the 2.20 would be a choice... I also like Kayf Aramis in the previous race, the 1.50, but again im not going to bet very heavily if i do at all... Obviously its going to be good to see Peddlers Cross out today, but a 3 horse race and a 1/8 price tag is not what you want to be parting with any shillings... But nice to watch all the same... Good luck to all who play today...
Afternoon, everyone. Nice days sport with the obvious highlight being the fencing bow of Peddlers Cross. Should romp in but given the level of opposition I'm not really sure what we will learn from today. Also, the dropping of my old fave, Oldjoesaid, into selling company at Kempton Park tonight is most eyecatching and surely someone will either make a bid, should he win, or make a claim, if he doesn't. His form of late hasn't equated to much but a change of scenery could be just what this old boy, who was once rated 100+, needs. Meanwhile, as always, I feel morally obliged to advise caution if anyone feels the need to wager in the latest 'Pertemps Qualifier' (1.50 Exeter). Usually, in these heats half the field are running solely to qualify for the Final whilst amongst the other 50% there are typically more plots than in an Agatha Christie novel. I realise I've wittered on a lot and instead could have summarised everything in 2, I say 2, words - no bet. Good luck though if you do strike an old trade.
By the way is everyone aware that Mr Henderson's last 5, I say last 5, runners have all won! I hope that members are profiting from this corking run of form! Does anyone incidentally know what the record is for the most consecutive number of winners by a trainer??? We could be living in momentous times and be about to see 'history' made, perhaps.
Afternoon all AIR FORCE ONE 2.10 BANGOR 8/1 (BOG) Last chance from me for this one today. Put him up at Ascot after a 553 day absence last time out as I felt he could be incredibly well handicapped. He didn't show much that day but was entitled to have needed the run and should be fitter now. Has been dropped another 4lbs to a mark of 128 and is worth a chance at 8/1 CURTAIN RAZER 12.50 EXETER 11/4 (BOG) Oscar Davy would have won at Carlisle last time out but for his fall at the last, however I am not sure about the form of that race. Despite the winner having a high rating I am not sure he is a trustworthy form line and therefore I will take a chance on Curtain Razer. Won both his starts in points and has since joined Paul Nicholls who has won 2 of the last 3 renewals of this.
Although I would love to see peddlers cross make a winning start over the big obstacles I have done a reverse forecast on the other 2 runners incase he doesn't take to fences
Afternoon all... Longtime no speak hope your all keeping well Been given NOGUCHI in the 4:50 at Kempton ! Went to wetherby for CH a few weeks back and got a real eye catcher the next time it runs from that card
Peddlers Cross jumped very well. Looked a natural over fences. Didn't beat anything so that is the most we can take from today.
