I can't recall who appointed Sue Gray to investigate Partygate, but I'm confident it wasn't Starmer. The original person appointed by Johnson, Simon Case, attended some of the parties, so presumably she was considered to be more independent than him. As it turned out she came to pretty much the same conclusions as the Metropolitan Police and I don't think they can be accused of a left-wing conspiracy. Deliberately provocative by Starmer and the Tory reactions are hilarious.
More pissed off by Graygate than Tories are civil servants who are always claiming they are independent. Yeah, right, independent like Ch 4 and the BBC.. Lord Keir appoints her to top job, as chief of staff. Her background needs to be investigated now, and if there's a whiff of bias to Labour, Partygate should be reopened
If it winds up right wingers like you Goldie is a brilliant move in my book I’m no fan of Starmer but it seems perfect ****housery to me
I'm not wound up. In many ways, I feel vindicated in my view that most civil servants are lefties! It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. The spotlight must now move from Boris Johnson to Sue Gray. I wonder if she knows what's coming...
Who said this? “Sue Gray is independent and is preparing the report in her own time without coming under pressure from the government.” It wasn't Sue Gray that issued more than 100 fixed penalty fines re Partygate, it was the Met Police, who conducted their own inquiry. The Privileges Committee will report today, apparently. That might be interesting. You're right about the BBC, though. It is no longer independent. It's now run by Tories.
Come on Goldie…..I know you’re wound up…..you know you’re wound up…..WE ALL know you’re wound up. Starmer’s played a blinder here
Absolutely!! Because Civil Servants have never, ever been shown to be partizan eh? I'm glad that Boris went, so I'm not too bothered whether her report was biased or not. I'm sure it probably was.
I have to help some of the most vile, racist scumbags who most definitely hold the complete opposite political persuasion from me….however I always have to do my job impartially and put that aside and act professionally…..I would assume civil servants are the same
I fail to see how an independent civil servant can then take the hugely influential position of chief of staff for a political party. Her background must be examined now. The whole purpose of the Sue Grey enquiry was to look into, among other things, the Met's conclusions. If she had bias, it was a road that led nowhere. As to the Privileges Committee, this was no doubt influenced by the Gray Report. So if that report is undermined, the public will start losing confidence in the lot. Again, Sue Gray will now be under the spotlight. As for the BBC, there's a Tory top management trying to govern a left wing workforce. I don't watch BBC News now, but I happened to turn it on this week. It was reporting on the teacher's strike and as background, showed a school classroom full of kids. Everyone of them were black, not one white face. Stainsey rightly refers to indoctrination in relation to the transgender stuff, but it applies to what the BBC and other left wing organisations put out. There is no proportionality, and again, the public are waking up to this. Channel 4's advertising output over a year was examined. 37% of those featured in adverts were BAME, when only 5% of the population are that ethnic mix. The lack of balance is cynical.
He may have done. It will depend whether his appointment ultimately undermines the Gray Report and gives the Tories ammunition to tell the public they've been duped. The jury's out.
Tories were falling over themselves to proclaim how independent and unbiased Gray was when she was appointed to undertake the inquiry. When it was finally published, the Daily Mail said, 'Is that it?', suggesting that her findings were not particularly damaging. Why are you so sure that she was (probably) biased?
Duped ? FFS Goldies, seeing some of those messages from that **** Hancock surely must make you realise the distain and pure content the current political class holds for working people……all of them are duping us. We need something different
Your race obsession shames you, Goldie. Do you refuse to buy products whose advertising has too many black faces?
I'm no fan of Hancock, the slimey prick, or Boris (although I'm grateful he got Brexit over the line after the debacle with the likes of Anne Soubry). The care home issue is a serious one for Hancock, but it's dangerous to take selected Whatsapp messages out of context. They need to get on with the inquiry.
I’ve helped far worse than you mucka . Once had a West Ham fan who had been beaten up and launched into a 20 minute foul mouthed tirade against anybody black/gay/muslim/jewish etc……didn’t have the heart to show him a picture of my Mrs or tell him that my male crew mates boyfriend had the same name as me.
No, it doesnt. It's about proportionality. There's also disproportionate featuring of LGBT, though not as great as the racial mix. And there's under representation of disabled people. So let's get the balance right, have more representation of disabled people, of whatever colour, and cut out the propaganda on race and sexuality
In public he was saying teachers were amazing….in private accusing of being work shy and lazy. I’m sure he wouldn’t have been the only one
