My first ever Spurs game was the 81 Cup semi final replay at Highbury against Wolves...Great game...Great memories Coys
Really important one this (aren't they all), but you've got to make the most of playing relatively early. People claim it's just being sore losers when we point to that horrendous run of four Monday games in pursuit of Leicester, but it makes a difference. Getting points on the board are IMHO significantly more important than games in hand. You can always convince yourself that games in hand are worth 3 points each... but they never are when you play them! (Of course this statement is making a big assumption that Citeh beat Newcastle!)
Only Tim Robinson I knew was a Pyscopathic maths teacher at my old secondary school, if you got a question wrong or got below a target mark he would open your desk lid , put your finger tips inside then push the lid down on them, he smelt of rotting veg and drove a Reliant Regal, our last week at school a mob of us lifted the car up and balanced it on 3 metal waste paper bins , he was later asked to leave after an incident with a female RE teacher in the book cupboard
What a match to be your first one! I remember the fantastic atmosphere that night as the entire ground seemed to be Spurs fans as the venue was 'just down the road for us' . A good win, back to Wembly at last and all achieved on Arsenals ground! Brilliant... I recall their manager saying the only thing they did wrong was turning up!!!! Even better, we went on to win it
Training video: I was going to say that I didn't notice anything notable, but it all seems a bit flat and serious.
I think most of N17 was in the ground that night , great memories, Wolves away was my first away game without my dad and his mates , I can remember the excitement and the train journey, it poured down all day and the police made the spurs fans go through a flooded underpass , molineux had the famous jagged roof on the main stand in those days
Well that's a shared memory... On my last day we (6 of us) lifted our Spanish teachers Morris Minor and left it balanced on the paved ends of the pond outside the main entrance! It was slightly harsh, as he wasn't the worst teacher we had - other than the fact he once sent me off for a dangerous tackle in a 'pupils v masters' annual game! (I never did find out how he recovered it ..)
Most of the foreign language teachers were on anti depressants or just plain mad like the French teacher who rode a bike to school with a string of plastic onions hanging off the handlebars while wearing a striped blazer and beret or the wood work teacher who to get your attention threw a mallet at you , the Tech drawing teacher who would happily cane you with a cane made from 1/2 " nylon or the art teacher who would be found smoking pot in the bike sheds Best years of your life , were they **** ,I got out at my first chance
I kept in touch years later with the only teacher that I had any time for , I was working part time with kids who like me had walked out of education or been thrown out and helped them with Motor repairs and maintenance and he recognised me , he told me some things that would now have had the school shut down , we still meet up for a lunch every 3 months or so
