And everyone knows that - the fans, Mowbray and Speakman. We're all frustrated with the way the season is going - it's more than we could've ever hoped for after promotion and yes it could've been so much better if Stewart stayed fit but he's not

That's also another goal coming from having big DB up front. Having that option is massive. Not having it, well......

Don't think anyone is saying or ever said we didn't want another striker. We'd have loved to have another one in.

We couldn't get our targets. So the debate is whether or not we should have have just tried to get any one at all in, regardless of quality or price, or not.

I say not. I don't want us blowing our budget on players that we ultimately didn't want except that we were desperate for a number 9.

My initial thoughts on the game:
Ref was awful but we cant use that as an excuse.
Defensively we were far too open which meant they could play through us far too easily. We need to have the wingers tucking in more when we lose the ball as its too easy to play through us. I know folk keep going on about our striker situation but we know what that is the situation so no point keep going on about it - the biggest concern for me though is the lack of players we are getting in the box. Too often our forward players are caught on their heals, they need to be getting across CBs, running beyond the defense and looking to arrive late in the box - none of that happened today.

I do like a 4-2-3-1 formation for us but I think with the way certain players are playing we should be going 4-3-3 and give Ekwah or Ba a start in a midfield 3. I said to my dad a couple of weeks ago I was worried as we were starting to look tired in games and we didnt have that same zip. I would have taken a mid table finish at the start of the season but we cant limp towards that type of finish. So pleased we have a week till our next game so TM can work on stuff on the training field.

As for the boy upfront for them, just different class - I think Ballard did well against him for most of the 2nd half but he is just a class act. He will be playing PL football next season for sure.

He has been very poor and leaving the lad to be our only option hasn't helped his development. Get flogged to death with no one taking the hits for him.

You are sounding like a broken record mate but I don't blame you, it was obvious to everyone but our spokesman who put a massive spoke in our wheels!

Trouble is he was brought in to compliment Stewart, he's clearly not a no.9.

    A loan striker that's just a wage?

You'd rather just lose games ? It's honestly so clear we need an option.

God mate, we have gone over this so many times. No one was happy we didnt bring in another striker. I agree if we signed the right striker it would have made a huge difference however just signing any striker doesn't guarantee you anything

well the ref had a 'better' job in the 2nd half but i am going to try and avoid his 1st half performance.

rather than what coventry have or have not i am going to make a few comments about us...better start to the game from us but once again we gave the ball away far too many times, coventry style is to allow possession and counter so giving the ball away is just 'cake and custard' for them.

seen a few mention it, we are far too 'soft' and many a time drop to the floor hoping for a free kick and with the officials we are seeing this season that is a bad policy, next, while we end up often with teams tiring later in games we do not seem to take advantage of it, endless passing around our own half which usually means we do not move or even drop further back so by the time we get to their box they have the defence well sorted.

i like the passing game, at times it simply confuses the opposition but it has to have an end result...i feel there has to be a mix to the game and even though we do not have a massive striker in there, get the ball into the middle before all the defenders are back, the amount of times roberts and clarke decide to go on a little run and fall over is pretty well annoying when there are other options.

we have a week now and i think it will do these lads some good and we can give stoke a good seeing to, this was not meant as a complaint but as a thought as to what we could be doing different, we all know the problems we have now and what we had earlier in the season but i still believe the squad has more than enough to cope...basically, they have to.

Aye I am because the evidence is there in front of my eyes.

I have said enough, just could see this coming from a mile away. Thinking we can play like arsenal in their prime and pass the away through teams will see this season finish poorly.

When we have to resort to playing Baath or Alese up front then anyone can see we have fallen well short by not getting a big forward man signed in January.

We should have brought the likes of Will Grigg or Connor Wickham in then.... just bringing any striker in isnt an option and we shouldnt just bring players in for the sake of it

Of course Stewarts injury will cost us

It guarantees you an option and presence. See Danny Barrth making a difference again. You said Gelhardt would play it well. He isn't and won't. We are not good enough to play without someone taking the hits and it's showing.

    All fart no ****e

Will never happen but would be interesting to see who the players were they were pursuing. And which players were genuinely available who would have been a short term ‘fix’.

Hold on, are you saying we should have signed another CF?

    That's a fresh take.

Don't under stand why some people don't get we are a team in massive transformation / development
Have produced some fantastic performances and punched above our weight
but with a team and young players in development we are going to have some big blips along the way
Personally I'm loving the journey from where we were two years ago. Can't wait to see where we are in two years time.
This is not the finished article for god sake but a fantastically talented team in development and moving in the right direction.
Yes we need an Striker, yes we need to be stronger in midfield when the balls turned over. We all know that.

But as my old man always said
Children and fools should never see a job half done.
