He’s basically just had a season and a half on loan but definitely needs one where he can be a consistent starter. You’d expect that to be firmly on the cards given he’s just signed for another 3 years, unless he’s resigned himself to being 3rd choice for way longer than I’d expect a player at his stage of his career to be happy with.
Perisic, Sessegnon, Udogie & Reguilon is overkill. You could argue he’s better than Sessegnon and Perisic. Udogie looks promising but that counts for little once he actually joins. If the new manager plays with a back 4 then it gives Reguilon a chance but for Spurs to recruit how they have and then appoint someone with a completely different system would make no sense at all.
I'd agree with all of that, but a new manager may prefer him to any or all of them. I don't see Perisic as a wingback either, let alone a fullback in a back four. Conte disagrees with this, clearly, but a new manager may want to keep him as an attacker.
Rumours that Pickford’s going to sign a new contract at Everton so that (hopefully) rules out any potential move here if it goes through.
Yeah I’d rather see Perisic as a backup winger too Sessegnon should definitely be moved on in the summer, he’s not gonna come good is he. If that was the case then you have Udogie and Reguilon which wouldn’t be too bad.
I'll file this alongside Milan reportedly looking to trigger the release clause in Zaniolo's contract In the filing cabinet marked "Thank **** For That"
If it’s one of them Daniel Levy gentleman agreements then forget about it Harry Kane’s brother to confirm
I'm sure I suggested him and Matvey Safonov of Krasnodar several months ago. Never seen either of them play, but they were the two highest valued out of contract keepers on transfermarkt! I think the gentleman's agreement bit has been added by the people behind this tweet. The first reports just have it as an agreement, as he's free to sign for nothing to non-Turkish clubs. Mourinho supposedly wanted him 3 years ago, so we may have been watching him for a while.
Those ever-reliable Turkish sources claim we have agreed to sign Fenerbahce keeper Altay Bayindir when his contract expires in the summer So, anyone else think that Shakhtar keeper looks promising...?
There is no such thing as a gentleman's agreement in football, it's merely something made up by journalists A few examples * The "gentleman's agreement" we had to sell Luka Modric to Chelsea for an insultingly low bid * The "gentleman's agreement" Liverpool had with Swansea about Brenton not nicking their players * The "gentleman's agreement" that Riyad Mahrez could leave Leicester in the summer of 2017 * The "gentleman's agreement" that said Jadon Sancho could leave Dortmund if Man Utd asked loudly enough all summer * The "gentleman's agreement" we had with Harry Kane saying he could leave if any Skyte Sport hack bumped into him on a golf course Every single time, the players stayed put - except the Swansea players, as Liverpool nicked Joe Allen as quickly as possible
Altay hasn’t had the best of seasons with Fener but has generally impressed beforehand. He’s a unit too, must be over 6’5. As a freebie it’d be a no brainer but I think the smart thing the club could/ should do is try signing another good keeper and have them battle it out, whoever loses the battle can then be moved on later as they’d seek to be first choice elsewhere. Probably in for a crazy summer, there’s about 10+ players that need selling, a potential new manager decision, key positions needing to be strengthened and the possibility of also having to replace two of the club’s best ever players in Lloris and Kane. No pressure like.
Not to mention that we have no idea what the status of the man who is supposed to have his hands on the wheel will be. I don’t think there’s been any update on Paratici’s situation for a while.
GK Watch FootballDotLondon have suddenly remembered that we have a shortlist of potential Hugo replacements, which reads as follows Dean Henderson (Man Utd, via Nottingham Forest) Mike Maignan (Milan) Giorgi Mamardashvili (Valencia) Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa) Jan Oblak (Atletico Madrid) Jordan Pickford (Everton) David Raya (Brentford) Robert Sanchez (Brighton) They've also mentioned a few options who aren't on the shortlist Altay Bayindir (Fenerbahce) Alex Meret (Napoli) Illan Meslier (Leeds)
Looks like he will go on a free at the end of the season, we should keep him till the end, just incase ,shake his hands and say thank you for that night in Amsterdam, if possible give him a cameo so the lane can say goodbye to a very popular player at the club
