    The voice of my childhood - looked forward to watching Match of the Day every Saturday night with Motty's commentary - RIP you will be sorely missed.

    Never mind Wikipedia , on football facts he was Mottipedia. Incredible passion for the game. Wonder if they’ll dress him in his sheepskin .

    Motty was great for years, he was terrible for a few years before his retirement, because of lots of mistakes, but he was still an icon . . . . this is his best commentary moment for me (if I could only remember who the goal (one of the best F.A. Cup goals ever) was against) :emoticon-0112-wonde

    An absolute legend. My first experiences of watching football on TV were mainly with Motty. Remember him most for Spurs v City Cup final 1981 when Ricky Villa scored that goal in the replay. RIP.
