Its been reported that (for me) the voice of football commentary John Motson has died aged 77. RIP to a true great https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...-sport-mourns-legend-covered-2-000-games.html
The voice of my childhood - looked forward to watching Match of the Day every Saturday night with Motty's commentary - RIP you will be sorely missed.
Never mind Wikipedia , on football facts he was Mottipedia. Incredible passion for the game. Wonder if they’ll dress him in his sheepskin . RIP Motty, you did a great job for us
A true icon of football commentary, his enthusiasm & passion for the game was first class. RIP Motty.
Motty was great for years, he was terrible for a few years before his retirement, because of lots of mistakes, but he was still an icon . . . . this is his best commentary moment for me (if I could only remember who the goal (one of the best F.A. Cup goals ever) was against)
An absolute legend. My first experiences of watching football on TV were mainly with Motty. Remember him most for Spurs v City Cup final 1981 when Ricky Villa scored that goal in the replay. RIP.
